RN31600 power failure
I have a readynas 316 with four numbers of 2 TB HDD. From today morning, it is not powering On. Since its under warranty, I dialed the customer care, spoke with them, and they told they will replace the Chassis, and creasted the RMA. Since the HDDs are working fine, is it ok by swapping the the existing HHDs to the new one, or do I have to give for any Data recovery before migrating the HDDs to the new one. Please advice.??? Helppppp...

Re: RN31600 power failure
Assuming there is a data backup I would put the existing disks into the new nas exactly in that sequence you had them in the faulty box and would not conduct any additional activities beforehand.

Re: RN31600 power failure
DOtn have a backup.. Only thing I was thinking to do before migrating to new one, is to give the HDD for Recovery. Since the current NAS is dead completely, i dont have much to do.

Re: RN31600 power failure
Netgear can recover the data remotely from the new ReadyNAS, or you can ship them the disks.
Details are here: https://kb.netgear.com/69/ReadyNAS-Data-Recovery-Diagnostics-Scope-of-Service
