Re: RN516 looking for instructions to update/access BIOS
Why do you want to change the boot order?
If you download the logs, what is the BIOS version in bios_ver.log?

Re: RN516 looking for instructions to update/access BIOS
bios_date=03/23/2013
bios_vendor=American Megatrends Inc.
bios_version=4.6.5
I want to make sure that I have the latest BIOS. I did finally see the message that flashed across my screen instructing me to hit ESC to access it, including the boot order.
I am installing FreeNAS. I installed a new processor that supports encryption in FreeNAS. I upgraded the RAM, but noticed that the maximum capacity that each slot would recognize was 8GB. I am hoping that FreeNAS will recognize 16GB in each slot.
I noticed that you provided other users the necessary files to install the latest BIOS on some older NAS units. I was hoping that you could help me with my RN516.

Re: RN516 looking for instructions to update/access BIOS
That looks like it may be the earliest production BIOS (or if not, close to it).
Unfortunately updating the BIOS isn't as easy for the 516.
I don't think any more than 16TB (2x8GB RAM) would work though I could be wrong.

Re: RN516 looking for instructions to update/access BIOS
it should at least take up to 16GB RAM (ECC).
