RN524X with ReadyNAS6.10.1 - DFS External shares can only be set using IP address

Hi,

I wanted to use the DFS option for one of my shares in order to point to external shares.

Doing so, ReadyNAS v6.10.1 prevent me to use canonical names in the address field. Only IP addresses are accepted.

Am I doing something wrong ?

Why would we use IP addresses in a SOHO environment instead of FQDN machine names ?

Unfortunately non-IP address scheme is not a supported function yet under the DFS feature. I have forwarded this as a request, not sure if it can be included on any upcoming release of firmware.

It will also be best to create another post under the Ideas Exchange board to request this feature to be available. Garnering enough Kudos will get the engineers notified and consider this request to be added.
