RND2110 v2 - no factory reset
I have a ready NAS Duo rnd2110 v2 with two hard drives installed. I have had it for awhile but turned it off about a year ago and have not used it since. I want to start using again but cannot remember the password. I have tried to do a factory reset several times. Hold down the reset button while pressing the power button. All the lights do not turn on as indicated in the manual. I see the two hard drive lights on for about 3 seconds, then off and then on again for about three seconds - the backup light does not shine. I am still holding the reset button during all this. After awhile the #2 hard drive light turns on and stay lit - even after I release the reset button. All this time the power button is blinking and the fan is turned on high. I would like to rest the unit to factory specs and format the drives so I can give it to my son. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Is there another way to reset it?
Thanks

Since you are not concered about the data on the drives, the easiest solution is to connect them to a PC and remove all partitions. The NAS will then do a factory reset when they are installed. If that does not work, then you may have a corrupt flash and need to do a USB recovery.

Kindly double-check if your ReadyNAS Duo is a v1 or v2. Use the link below as reference guide:

If ever you have a ReadyNAS Duo v1, read the article below and follow the steps on how to factory reset the ReadyNAS Duo v1:

Thanks for the help. It is a V1 - not a V2. I am not sure how I came to the wrong conclusion. Regardless, I did remove the drives and removed the exising partitions before realizing the version issue and that worked great. The unit booted up and I was able to access the admin page without problems.
Thans to all who replied.
