ReadyNAS 3138 (OS 6.10.5 hotfix 1) no space left after I deleted a share
Hello to everybody,
I got the same problem into 2 different old ReadyNAS model (RN3138 and RN2100).
The problem is that when I delete a share, the free space didn't increase but it kept the same before.
I just deleted a total amount of 4TB of a share and now I continue to have only 60GB of free space; the total volume amount is of 5.6TB (4 * 2TB sata disks in RAID 5).
There are no snapshots; the btfrs command line doesn't shows any (and I deleted them too); the du command line shows only 1.3TB of occuped space in /data; the df comman line shows there is 99% of space in use.. Where is gone the space used after the share deletion?
I ready on this community forum that there are many people had the same problem and that the only solution is to delete the volume and re-create everything... Can somebody to help me please?
I attached only one screenshot because the system doesn't permit me to add anymore.
Thanks in advance.
Ciao!

Try running a balance from the volume settings wheel, and let us know if that helps.
Also, please post the output of
btrfs fi df /data btrfs fi du -s /data
Normal df and du don't give a good indication of where the space is going.

btrfs fi us /data -b
might also give some good information.

Hello,
I forgot to notice you that balance, scrub, etc didn't produced any effect.

The system is definitely thinking that the allocated space is all used.
Maybe use btrfs fi du -s /path on each of your subvolumes, and see if that gives you any clues on where the space is going.

Re: ReadyNAS 3138 (OS 6.10.5 hotfix 1) no space left after I deleted a share
Really many thanks for your reply.
I already ran those commands and they show that there is occuped only 1,8TB in a volume of 5.6TB but the free space is 60GB. I just deleted the volume and I recreate it. This seems to be the only slution to apply, like many other people done before me.
Thanks
Ciao!
