ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
Bidirectional sync with Google Drive Cloud does not seem to work. On the Bidirectional setting it only syncs from the NAS to Google Drive Cloud but not the other way round.
I did some tests with all 3 sync modes: up / down / bidirectional. Even on the down settings it still does not sync from Google Drive Cloud to the NAS.
Only the up mode works (NAS to Google Drive Cloud).
On other posts/threads I've seen mention of setting the synchronisation check frequency but that does not appear anywhere.
Can anyone help?

Re: ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
Update:
After about 90 mins, folders seem to have synced bidirectionally, but not their content. Will that be another 90 mins? Looks I need to access the synchronisation check frequency, so can anyone advise where that is configured?
Thanks

Re: ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
Not sure what you mean by "history" button.
But in any case it seems to be working now. It's possible there was a large backlog of synchronisation to do, as we had only just set this up.
However it seems the ReadyNAS Google Drive sync does not sync google documents ( *.gdoc *.gsheet etc) Can you confirm that, please.
But with MS Office documents (*.docx *.xlsx etc) it works fine.
So why would ReadyNAS Google Drive sync some file types and not others?
Thanks

Re: ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
Hi,
I'm having the same issue with this.
I've checked the logs and it just doesn't see the files *.gsheet and *.gdoc
I think there's no issue with the syncing, this works. It just doesn't recognize the google files so it doesn't sync them

Re: ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
We gave up with the Netgear and moved to a Synology NAS. Works as you would expect, no problems.

Re: ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
Yes - me too - Google docs definitely not synced from Cloud. Firmware 6.9.2. I'm also not seeing all my .jpgs downloading - Sync is complete and there are hundreds of files in the cloud which are not on the NAS.

Yup - no one cares - Here's the evidence. A file on my local google drive, the file in a browswer on google drive cloud and the file not on my NAS after 7 days waiting

- No appreciable difference with 6.9.3 RC 1 either - apart from the One Drive plugin seems to have stopped working (sigh) little red dot and authentication errors in the logs... I"ll post in the appropriate place when I have a moment

Re: ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
ReadyNAS 102, 6.9.2
Netgear please fix Google Drive support because currently is unusable. After syncing ReadyNAS has downloaded only 19 GB of 26 GB on Google Drive, where is the rest? A lot of folders are incomplete. Additional problem is with non-English characters in folder names (I need Polish characters) - these folders are not visible on macOS using SMB sharing on ReadyNAS (but exist using web panel).

Re: ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
Just a question - does anyone know if there is a list of 'supported files' for the Google drive sync ? I know that the google files are actually 'just' links but it doesn't mean that I don't want to see them on the NAS ! We work remotely through google docs as the collaboaration function works (unlike another office product) - Without the google docs appearing in the NAS file, I'm missing most of the work as we only go to .doc or .pdf for the final client copy.
I note that Synology were doing this 2 years ago according to this post:
"....Syncdocs will also see that the file .gdocs and .gsheets files are there and will open them online instead of in notepad. To ensure that this happens, make sure you uncheck the option "Convert Google Docs to Office format on download" in the Syncdocs Preferences "Files" Tab.

Re: ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
I have the same problem doesn't sync the files *.gsheet and *.gdoc
The syncing, works. it It just doesn't recognize the google files making it useless for people that actually use google docs,
a sync engine should sync everything regardless extension,
a proper sync engine do not need to recognize the extension it should download everything in the folders , no matter if it recognize the files or not, and as some mentioned i do not think they do care , judging by my experience with netgear support in other issues this is my first and last netgear device

Re: ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
No response to my query either - It makes no sense for what is advertised as Google drive backup to not back up all files. The Gdoc and other files are exactly the same concept as the .docx xlsx family etc . This selective bahviour is not advertised and there is no list of exclusions published. I can't see why they are excluded and other vendors include them. It makes the Google Backup app unfit for purpose. I've noted elsewhere that the 'Beta' label has disappeared from the top level page but is still on the pages when you open up the app.. so let's see if anyone cares this month:
1. Is this Beta or Released software ?
2. What files are excluded from backup
3. What is the rationale for this unique behaviour ? The One drive function for example takes docx and xlsx files
4. What are the plans and roadmap for future development of this particular App ?
Surely we are not the only people in the world with this problem ?
3.

Re: ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
Seeing i had a number of servers running ubuntu that i think netgear os is based on, When time exist i might attempt to fix it myself using ssh and make a guide if i succeed that is if the normal commands to list folders etc want to play ball ,but its sad Netgear not fixt this or even responded, a sync should not be selective it should simple sync whatever u want to have in your cloud
Hopefully this is fixt next os update
