ReadyNAS Duo freezing - Access to the disk on channel (??)

I'm new to this form and new to viewing the logs for my ReadyNAS.

My ReadyNAS Duo V1 will run for a few days and my backup software complains that it can get read access intermittently. I'm trying to figure out if a disk is bad (If so, which one?) or is my ReadyNAS itself failing?

Log says: "Access to the disk on channel (??) is producing I/O errors. Although the array is still redundant, please replace this drive as soon as possible, as it is likely to fail soon."

After digging around a bit I found an ecounter with this: 0_sata_lp_stat: 5316 - Is that disk 1 telling me it's bad?

Any help is much appreciated. I've been struggling with this for a week before finding this forum!

Re: ReadyNAS Duo freezing - Access to the disk on channel (?

Your second disk failed.
You need to replace disk 2.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo freezing - Access to the disk on channel (?

In addition, your first disk is counting up errors. Your best bet is to clone disk 1 to a new disk and replace disk 2 by resyncing.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo freezing - Access to the disk on channel (?

I'm sorry guys, I goofed this up by pull disk 2 out before I downloaded the log files and sent them to you. I was going to see if it would behave with one disk in at a time. I pulled disk 2 about 15 minutes before downloading the logs.
