ReadyNas Pro 6 - Invalid Image and ReadyNas dead message

I recenlty logged into Frontview and got the message that all my disks were dead:

However, everything seems to be working fine (although the ReadyNas seems a little slow.

Then I tried to upgrade my firmware, and I get the "Invalid Image" message.

When I use Raidar I get the message that the NAS is healthy ?

Not sure how to proceed ?

Re: ReadyNas Pro 6 - Invalid Image and ReadyNas dead message

Thank you for your help.

I don't know what happened, but everything is back to normal, with all disks reading Healthy.

I was able to upgrade my firmware to RAIDiator 4.2.31 and all is good !

I didn't do anything?

Re: ReadyNas Pro 6 - Invalid Image and ReadyNas dead message

Hi @Spoonman56

Welcome to the Community!

Have you tried using a different browser? Or clearing cache then re-open your browser and log back in to Frontiview?

Even if everything is fine and you still have access to your shares, I would still suggest to do a full backup and have the logs checked. Getting a message like that is not a good sign usually performance degradation is a result of a failing disk, or full volume capacity.

You may want to check on diagnostic.log or disk_smart.log

Regarding update, have you tried the remote update on your ReadyNAS? What firmware are you trying to update to? Pro 6 should be on 4.2.31

If remote update does not work, You may want to try to do an OS-Reinstall then try to udpate once more.

*Please download the full logs if you will perform an OS-reinstall.

Hope this helps!

Regards

Re: ReadyNas Pro 6 - Invalid Image and ReadyNas dead message

Though you should plan on upgrading firmware at some point, you shouldn't try that until you sort out what's happening.

I suggest looking at the disk health (via the health tab in frontview).  That won't work with Chrome (you'll probably get an empty popup), but it definitely works with edge and internet explorer.  You might need to use a "compatibility mode" in the browser because of the age of your firmware.

More importantly, your data is at risk, so you should back up what you can.

Re: ReadyNas Pro 6 - Invalid Image and ReadyNas dead message

RAIDiator-x86 4.2.16 added support for disks larger than 2TB, so you would have wanted to update the firmware eventually anyway.

You were running an extremely old firmware version.
