ReadyNas Pro: Slow to display the shares list (1st opening)
Hello,
We have just purchased some weeks ago a NETGEAR ReadyNas Pro. It replaces a ReadyNAS NV+ which speed was too low for our 25+ Windows XP clients accessing data.
We have given THE SAME NAME to the ReadyNas PRO (as the NV+) and the NV+ is no more connected to the network. We have also set the same manual IP adress configuration (as the NV+).
We are working on a Windows SBS 2003 domain and the clients are mostly under Windows XP SP3.
The last firmware is installed on the ReadyNAS PRO.
Question:
-----------
1) When first opening the Windows File explorer (a winlogon script on the SBS server connects the 3 shares to O: P: and Q: on the client - NET USE), it takes a long time (5-10 seconds) to display the shares connected to the ReadyNAS. After the 1st opening, it's OK.
When using the NV+, it was instantaneous.
Do other people feel the same with the ReadyNAS PRO?
Do you think it could solve the problem ?

2) We are backing up our data using ACRONIS Backup & Recovery (installed on a Windows 2003 server). It is working fine except the fact that we have to connect under ReadyNAS_Name\Administrator instead of Domain\Administrator.
Again, with the previous NV+, we were connected using Domain\Administrator.
Maybe, these 2 facts are to be linked ?
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Tony

Re: ReadyNas Pro: Slow to display the shares list (1st openi
I have a simultaneous problem. Accessing the ReadyNas Pro slows down the W2003 explorer. Sometimes the explorer is crashing. Data transmission to the NAS ist very slow. It's just on W2003. W7 or XP clients in the net are running fine without any delay in accessing the NAS. I can't find any answer to this behaviour.
