Hi All,
Have readynas RN104 running 6.6.0 which stops booting at 99% - appears to be at "dovecot.service" As far as I know, I'm not running dovecot.. Root fileystem can be accessed via SSH, but system not getting as far as mounting other filesystems.
Does anyone have any ideas how to progress please.
Cheers

Re: ReadyNas RN104 hangs 99% booting
Perhaps try stopping and disabling that service?
Probably something like
# systemctl stop dovecot # systemctl disable dovecot

Re: ReadyNas RN104 hangs 99% booting
Hi there,
Tried deleteing the service, but now hanging on fvbackup-q.service. My suspicion is that there's something more fundamentally wrong.
I've another NAS that I'm using to back up fresh data, but would really like to acess my multimedia, which took weeks to digitise.
Tbh, if I could get rsyncd and my encrypted primary raid1 disks mounted, I could rsync the data accross and do a factory reset, but am unsure about the process for that.
Cheers

Re: ReadyNas RN104 hangs 99% booting
Perhaps boot to volume read-only then try updating to 6.7.1 Beta

Re: ReadyNas RN104 hangs 99% booting
Hi, Problem is can't complete boot process using any of boot menu options (haven't tried factory reset (yet!)) so unable to get frontview access to try any sort of upgrade - considering it was attempt to upgrade to 6.6.1 that got me into this mess, just want to salvage what I can.
Ideally a factory reset which allows access to rsync and encrypted raid1 disks would be enough, as I can rsync data to my other NAS, but my understanding is that factory reset is data destructive. I do ave 1 unencrypted spare disk in NAS, could this be utilised to help boot in some way?

Re: ReadyNas RN104 hangs 99% booting
Rebooting. It turns out the firmware on the internal flash was corrupt.
I can see a large number of encryption keys and many references to volumes not present on the OS which is curious.

Re: ReadyNas RN104 hangs 99% booting
I can see you ran into the ReadyCLOUD outage issue. Did you have data in your ReadyCLOUD users' home folders and need a data recovery attempt?

Re: ReadyNas RN104 hangs 99% booting
No thanks .. nothing in any home folders worth bothering about, just the data on mirror1.

O.K. Can you confirm that it's come up fine now?
