Seems like after a recent firmware update, I can no longer log into the router from the Orbi app. It asks for the login credentions of which I use admin and the same password I use on my laptop, but I get the message "Your router is unreachable. Please check that your router is on. If this issue persists, try rebooting your device." I have rebooted the router several times. I've cleared cache and data on the app. I've deleted and reinstalled the app. I can use a web brower on my phone (Samsung S21, Android 15) and get logged in. I've even changed the router password but still no luck. Any ideas?39Views0likes8CommentsOrbi rbr40 not connecting with modem
Hello, I’m hoping someone can help me. I have an Orbi rbr40 router with two satellites. Motorola modem. I unplugged the router and modem four days ago to move something. Plugged back in a few hours later. The router appeared as it was loading- slow white blinking light. Then turned solid purple. I tried unplugging and syncing a few times. Called Orbi, not sure if it was really Orbi. I called three different times, in sum they are saying there is malware. They said when I unplugged and replugged (prior to issue) that allowed malware thru and somewhere along the line of router, satellite or devices it is infected and I’d need to pay $349 for 5 years (maybe 3, can’t remember) or $499 for lifetime security protection. They said they clean up the malware and fix the issue. I don’t buy it. i have since done a factory reset, no help. I called Xfinity today, there is no issue with signal getting to modem. And YouTube says my modem is working fine. The router is now solid white light. of course Xfinity tried to have me rent a modem/router. any help, in simple terms, would be greatly appreciated. My soon to be ex husband was the tech guy- he skipped town to his new life and this is all foreign to me. Thanks a million in advance38Views0likes6CommentsCan't connect to the Orbi's within app even after factory reset.
Man... These things are really starting to annoy me. I've tried all the fixes I have found and still no luck. I even factory reset them, something I was trying to avoid, and still can't get the app to connect. I've tried an andriod, iphone, etc and nothing.... What gives?!73Views0likes3CommentsOrbi App Admin Credentials
First time trying to sign in the orbi app in a while and it now asks for admin login which I have never had to do before. Weird thing is it only happens on my new android phone. Dusted off the old android and had no issues logging in. Seems like everyone is having problems. No idea how to fix and a factory reset for only one affected phone is insane.65Views0likes3CommentsRB20 Appears Good but seems to Fail
I have an RB40 and 2 RB20s. We had some internet issues, with the ISP and after all fixed, one of the RB20s shows Backhaul as Good but every time I use something attached to that RB20, that device fails. For example, when my cell is in range of the RB40, WiFi works fine. When I am switched to the RB20, WiFi fails. I am running the current version, 2.7.5.6, Orbi firmware. Is there away to reset the RB20 and reinstall the firmware to see if that fixes the problem? My other RB20 seems to be fine.87Views0likes7CommentsIf your Kindle says the Orbi app is compatible
If your Kindle says the Orbi app is compatible but won’t let you download it, there could be a few reasons behind the issue. First, make sure your Kindle's operating system is up to date, as older versions may have trouble installing newer apps. Sometimes, compatibility listed in the Appstore doesn’t reflect real-time updates or regional restrictions, so double-check your device’s region settings. You can also try clearing the Appstore cache or restarting the device to resolve temporary glitches. If the issue persists, consider downloading the Orbi APK from a trusted source and installing it manually, occasion though be cautious with third-party downloads to avoid security risks.24Views0likes1CommentCan't Access Orbi RBRE 960 After A Reboot
A couple of days ago I used the Orbi app on my android phone to access my router. Just something I do once in a while to check on a remote system. I noticed that one of my satellites was not connected, I have two satellites. I thought that rebooting the router might fix the problem so I initiated a reboot from the app. After the router came back online, I was unable to access it from the app. The message I keep getting on the app leads me to believe that Anywhere Access is not working or enabled on the router now. I have a video server at the remote location that I can log into using TeamViewer so I used that to get access to the local network. On that server I brought up a browser and tried logging in to the router using the 'routerlogin.net' URL as well as the IP address and all I get is a "Connection Refused" message. I've also tried the default IP addresses of 10.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 and those don't work either. And yes, I tried other browsers and also cleared cache, etc. I've also been able to reboot the router a couple of times since I have it plugged into a 'Keep Connect' device that allows me to cycle power remotely. The good news is that for now the WiFi is working fine and all devices are connected and have internet access. I've read a few other posts for other Orbi routers that mention having to do a factory reset in order to regain access and go through the setup process again. These posts are not recent though. Since it's probably going to be several weeks before I can get out to that remote location, I thought I'd ask the community if anyone else has run into this problem and has successfully resolved it without having to do a factory reset. I've contacted support and have an open case, but I haven't heard back from them since I opened it. Any help from the community would be greatly appreciated. TIA.146Views1like9CommentsOrbi Statistics

Good afternoon! For those having problems with Android/5 GHz devices dropping the wifi and picking it back up immediately, I have found a temporary solution. The problem with the LG G5 and Pixel was that it was switching between 2.4 and 5 GHz connections regularly. On the Orbi, you cannot separate the SSID's for each frequency so I just disabled the SSID on the 2.4 GHz network. I then chose "forget network" and reconnect my 5 GHz capable devices to the only SSID showing which was 5 GHz. All devices connected to 2.4 GHz stayed connected and the loss of signal quit happening. I suspect that the 2.4 seemed to be slightly stronger between walls so the strongest signal would vary between 2.4 and 5 GHz. Here is my configuration below. So far it has been up and running with no dropping or Orbi restarts for 18 hours. Firmware: 2.1.2 10 Beta
