Hi, I just purchased the EX6100 in order to extend my wireless network signal - my router signal is not strong enough in my basement to access the internet down there. I went through the setup and seemingly connected my new extender to my existing router, but when I get to the step to connect my devices to the extender's new network, I can connect, but I only get a local connection. I cannot connect to the internet. Does anyone have any idea why this might be the case? I would appreciate some help on this.44KViews0likes25CommentsNetwork interference error on Samsung Smart TV
I have a Samsung Smart TV and I'm trying to use my applications (Netflix, HBO Go, etc.), however, when I select them with my Samsung remote I get an error that says something like "Cannot complete due to network interference". I have also noticed that when I try testing the TV network settings it fails when it reaches the "Gateway ping" test. I have to think these two are related. I have tried changing my channel in my internet settings from auto to 1, 6 and 11. I have tried matching the IP address on my TV with my IP address in the Netgear router settings. What else can I try? I'm at a complete loss and really would love my Netflix back (otherwise, why pay for it?) Thanks in advance for any help. Can't change WiFi channels on EX6100
I'm in a long single-story house with a Nighthawk R7000 router in the middle and WN3500RP and EX6100 range extenders at both ends, all on Channel 6 (2.4GHz) and Channel 153 (5GHz). After insuring the networks on the new EX6100 are named differently from those on the WN3500RP, everything seems to be working OK. The Nighthawk router shows the 2.4GHz channel as Auto, but allows me to change it; at 5GHz it's Channel 153 with option to change to about 7 other settings. I can't change channels on the EX6100, as the channel selectors for both frequencies are grayed-out and display "Auto". Am I constrained to have the extender's channel be the same as the router's?22KViews1like2CommentsExtender always gets 'limited' connection icon
Windows 8.1 on Toshiba laptop. ISP is Vodafone (New Zealand). DSL service. When connecting to Extender, I always get the yellow 'limited' icon in 'connection settings' in Windows, and can't access internet despite showing four to five bars in the connection symbol. The green symbols on the front of the extender are both lit with steady lights, and no flashing arrows. This occurs even if I put router, extender and laptop right next to each other. My normal internet connection direct from the router works fine, but the extender's connection is always 'limited' and won't work. By the way, I tried submitting this query on Netgear's online contact form, but the Submit button wouldn't work.22KViews0likes8CommentsDevice lockup (Orange light) on home WiFi
I've been trying to troubleshoot a problem I'm having with a secondhand EX6100. I bought the device from a friend that had been using it without problems, but when I reset it and connect it to my network, the device locks up soon after and I have to power-cycle, even with no WiFi devices connected to it. Initially I thought there were problems with the 5G, so I setup the device in 2G only, without luck. I've tried numerous settings, from leaving it basic config (wizard) to custom settings. I've reverted to stock firmware and then updated again. Nothing I seem to do makes a difference. I've lost count of the times I've reset this device. The Ex6100 is connecting to a WNDR4500, both with latest firmware. I have zero problems with any other device connected to the WNDR4500, on either band. I gave the EX6100 back to my friend to test again on his network and it worked fine for 2 days, where as I can only get a few hours at most, but usually around 5 minutes before lockup. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.21KViews0likes11CommentsDIRECTV cannot connect to N750 Extender
Hi, I have a NETGEAR N750 WIFI Range Extender and everything in my home connects to it perfectly except for my DirecTV Cinema Connection Kit. (CCK). It finds the the extender in the network list but cannot connect to it. DirecTV came out and said their equipment doesn't connect to extenders. So my question is, is there a setting on the N750 that I could tweak to make it work with DirecTV? Thanks so much. FYI, my main router is too far away and I can't get it closer to the CCK. Thanks.19KViews0likes6CommentsEX6100 cannot connect to my router's 5GHz frequency
Hello, I just got a Huawei E5186 4G LTE router from Europe, and I tried to get my EX6100 (bought from the US) to connect to my router's 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. It's able to connect to the 2.4GHz frequency just fine, but doesn't seem to be able to connect to the 5GHz frequency. Now I know that since I bought the devices from two different regions, not all of the 5GHz channels are supported by the two devices, which is why I tried setting up my router's 5GHz frequency on channels 36, 40, 44 and 48, which are all the channels supported by both devices. The EX6100 is able to see my router's 5GHz SSID during setup, and I'm able to finish the setup wizard fine, but when I look at the Status page afterwards, it shows that the EX6100 is not connected to my router's 5GHz. No matter how many times I try to reconnect to the 5GHz frequency, it just won't work. I tried to restore the extender to factory settings multiple times, but nothing seems to work. Both my router and extender won't allow me to change the region (tried this so that I may be able to find more common channels). How can I resolve this problem? Thanks in advance, AJ16KViews0likes10CommentsEX6100 firmware update
I dont know i understending the update firmware process: I try to upgrade firmware to new one 1.0.0.28. I try to follow instruction, in this way: Note: To avoid wireless disconnect issue during the firmware download process, NETGEAR recommends that firmware upgrade be performed on a computer with wired connection. but is not possible to connect to EX6100 with wired connection. Only connected with wireless adapter. How to update firmware in this case? I try to connect first with usb wireless adapter, Netgear N600, everyting is fine. Goes to: 3.Log in to the device using a Web browser. The URL is http://www.mywifiext.net. 4.Click Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade 5.Click Browse and find the file you just downloaded. 6.Click Upload. While the firmware is loading, do not interrupt the upgrade process. I found the file and extract to my computer. I disconnected N600 and connected a wire, but connection is down. How to upgrade? or How to fix this? Windows 7 x64 PC.13KViews0likes2CommentsUnable to connect to website
I am extremely frustrated. I am unable to log onto www.mywifiext.net. This extender is not working and I cannot find any number or website to connect me to Technical Services. Apparently, the information in your Installation Guide is no longer valid??? Do you no longer manufacture or support this product?13KViews0likes2Comments
