It would be great if you could see realtime bandwidth per device for the netgear r7000, similar to Google Wifi and Eero. It would be a really useful info and diagnostic tool to see what devices are currently taking up bandwidth. It would be great if this was added to the router web administration page as well theNetgear Genie and/or Netgear Up apps. Please update the Traffic Meter feature for the Nighthawk R7000 to have an increased Monthly Limit that can account into the Tbytes. Comcast as an ISP has began to implement data caps at 1024Mb which equates to 1048576Mbytes but the Monthly Limit field only allows me to enter 104857Mbytes, missing the last digit which is significantly less than the data cap. Given that Comcast is monitoring the traffic it should be available to impose limits and monitor traffic independent of Comcast. It is very important this feature be added. Currently running V1.0.7.10_1.2.3 firmware. This was mentioned in the forums and it was suggested that this be submitted at this location in that post. Per NetGear social media, we are supposed to suggest the below idea here. My idea, as crazy as it sounds, is that Netgear continue to support their R8000 devices. I know, sounds insane but hear me out. People spent hundreds of dollars on a product featuring the "latest tri-band wifi" technology. Now instead of leaving them hanging with a big security exploit for two months, device issues and a feature release stall, Netgear should develop a new robust firmware. Ideally it would be one that wouldn't encourage them to go out and try questionable 3rd party firmwares. That means, it should be competitive (feature wise) with those 3rd parties while fixing ongoing issues highlighted in the forums. Benefits: 1. Happy customers who don't feel like they wasted money and are not stranded with a reletively up to date tech, that lacks manufacture support, features and security. 2. See #1 above. I think it deserves reiteration. Facts 1. product saw less than 18 months of firmware releases and developer support. 2. Nearly 9 months have past since the last firmware update (as of 8/31/2016). 3. June 2016: security notice suggested disabling of features due to security exploit. 4. 2 month later, June 2016 security exploit is still unpatched, leaving customers exposed. 5. There are no Nighthawk products listed on the NetGear EoL page, including the R8000. 6. So, Nighthawk developers, a suggestion: Have an independent thread in the firmware, simple, clean, with a UDP socket open, that can dump router diagnostics to Genie, Up, other tool. Do NOT Use HTTP, AJAX, etc. Would be highly useful if Admin console unresponsive, a router hang that affected function, but left the router running and semi-functional. Wonedring if anyone else is seeing an issue similar to the below. At this point I've replaced the Orbi router, had a spare, with no success in correcting the problem. The Orbi is running in AP mode directly connected to a router. This happens in router mode as well. Two satellites on each end of the house. When walking to one side of the house the satellite takes over with limited or no impact as expected. When I walk back to the Orbi base router the same thing happens. Everything is good. When walking towards the other satellite it takes over as expected BUT when walking back to the router the switchover takes place, I can see the WiFi signal integrity change as expected, but I can no longer pass traffic to my LOCAL network. Nothing on my 192.168.1.x network is reachable / pingable except the router plugged directly into the WAN port and the Internet. If I power off the second satellite everything returns to normal about 20 seconds later. I'm running the latest firmware, as mentioned replaced the router (since it is what I had) and have reset everything on multiple occassions. Not sure if this is an issue but since I needed to satellites, and like to have spare equipment, I did purchase two router / satellite combinations. One of the satellites is from the second unit but I'm not sure which is which.SolvedCannot Access orbilogin.com or net
Hello I just did install an Orbi router and its satellite , all goes fine, there is internet and sofar all is working well. the problem now is to get access to the admin page, i saw that it was changed to 10.0.0.1 to not to have problems with my router, in my configuration there is a router 192.168.21.1 that is attached to the modem 192.168.1.1 in the basement, there is a cable in the first floor where i did install the router Orbi, so when I try to enter I think there is a conflict there. With the app in the iphone it does not recognize the orbi network and the router, when i try to enter using orbilogin.net or 10.0.0.1.I can not ccess neither, I always have the same page of not found with the url and it is thinking all the time with the IP, I did manage to enter only with the cable and disconeting the internet router that gives internet to the Orbi and I did changed the IP of Orbi to 192.168.24.77, but anyway when I out back the cable it is not working. Recently bought C3000 Cable Gateway (Time Warner ISP) have changed my router name, password, and channel, but otherwise using default settings. I've reached out to Time Warner to trouble shooting, but they've not been able to provide any help, they say the connection is strong and consistent on their end. The problem - Every 30mins my internet connection will time out, this time out will last about 2 - 5 mins. Then the connection will return to normal. The signal indicator remains strong and connected during the drop out. I have a R7000 router. I found out the current log size is very limited and I want it to log 24 hours events. I guess saving log on router has file size limitation. As I know, R7000 router can connect to a portable USB hard drive directly and can use it to do backup files. Why not use it to store the log data file? By doing it, the router can store any large log file size as long as the hard drive has the capacity. I think it is feasible and not hard to implement this as Router can access this hard drive directly and already provided some file back up features. Please Netgear change some configuration to add this feature. That will be great!!
