These steps will not work for me for some reason. Even if I "hide" the 5ghz, and "forget" the SSID on my android phone, when it then shows the available networks, it is still a 5ghz network. I also tried lowering the 5g power to 25%, etc. Is there anything else I can do aside from buying a dedicated 2.4ghz access point just o configure the stupid Mitsubishi app and my new mini-splits?How to connect to the APP a system which is already configured ?
I already have a RBK50 system with 5 satellites. It's working properly. But I changed my mobile phone and I lost the system on the APP of my new S25 ULTRA. I have tried to add it but 3 of 5 satellites are considered as not connected on the Network Mapping section. But if I go on the orbilogin.net all 5 satellites are well connected ... I have tried to reboot the router but always same ... Any idea ? Regards GeoffroyRBR50 signal lost multiple times during the day when having teams calls
I have a RBR50 router connecting to two sattelites. One on each floor. On the 1st floor the connecting is lost several times during the day. On the 2nd floor the issue is the same. How can I improve the network to be more stable? Or do I need to upgrade to a newer set up?Sync Orbi RBS50Y outdoor satellite to new Orbi
This doesn't have enough upvotes. Thank you for the clear step-by-step. After countless hours, this was the fix that worked for me. A couple things I'll add: To update firware, you'll need to download the firmware from netgear before connecting to the NETGEAR_EXT local wifi. Search for "RBS50Y latest firware extender mode". In the Smart Setup wizard there are 3 password options for both 2GHz and 5GHz: create new, copy router, or leave unsecured. During the first connection, select Leave Unsecured. You can change this after it's connected to the router. Cheers!Edit/Add new IP reservations
I have an RBR50v2 Orbi router and 2 satellites with FW ver 2.7.5.6. I have entered 15, or so, reserved internal IP addresses using "Advanced > Security > Access Control". All works well. The issue is, if I edit existing entries or add new entries, boot my router/satellites, log back into my router and go to "Basic > Attached Devices", the changes do not show up. It seems like I had this problem in the distant past and had to delete all reserved IP address entries in "Access Control", boot the system and re-enter all IP reservations. Is that the work around for this issue? Any help is appreciated.VPN Ports Closed -> VPN Timeout
Trying to setup VPN on RBR50 router connected to SB1683 cable modem. Testing VPN connection on OpenVPN IOS via cellular. Public IP matches that of router settings. Every time testing the VPN it times out because there is no response. The ports appear closed when using online checkers but there are no apparent firewall settings on either router or modem or blocking from ISP (Xfinity). No-IP DDNS that confirmed through editing and it reloading back to known IP. Now I'm in a pickle. I've been suffering frequent losses of internet connectivity. All devices are accessible over the LAN but report 'no internet'. Power cycling the RBR50 restores connectivity for a while. I read here of others facing a similar issue here so I decided to downgrade from the latest firmware an earlier release I had on my computer until the issue is resolved. I first tried downgrading the RBS50 satellites to V2.5.2.4 but noticed they returned to the latest version within minutes! So then I then tried downgrading the RBR50 router (thinking this might be what kept updating the RBS50s) but things then went crazy: I could no log in to the management page with my password. Neither the password I'd been using all morning nor the default creds would work (I wondered if the thing had done a factory reset). It then asked for serial number followed by two security questions I had no idea about. Now I'm locked out. How could my password get reset to something unknown and is a factory reset the only way forward? No Wifi, but Ethernet works fine
Using the RBR50 and 2 satellites. I decided to switch ISP’s. Tech came out today and installed modem. It showed online but my Orbi wouldn’t work with it. So I decided to just go back to the old ISP’s modem and cancel the new ISP. I had a little buyers remorse anyways because I didn’t realize I would be going from Fiber to Cable. Anyways, now I can’t get my WiFi to work at all. The ethernet plugs work. Computer and gaming console are on the internet, but wifi has been down all day. And now after several reboots and factory resets, the Orbi network won’t even appear as a WiFi network on any of my devices. I am unable to access orbirouter.com because I can’t even find the network. The devices connected via Ethernet can’t seem to access it either. The RBR50 sits with the magenta light on. I am so lost right now and seem to only be making things worse. I don’t really see how the ISP tech could have changed anything. Any ideas?
