I am running a 3 node orbi system. (rtr + 2 x satellites). The solution is running 7.2.8.2_5.1.18. I am actually struggling with domain.local issues, but in looking for a fix, I noted a security release for orbi rbr860 so I downloaded it from the support site. Having unzipped it, I noted there were only 2 files in the zip, which I thought was odd. (release notes and .chk file). I tried uploading the .chk file to the satellites to see what would happen and it failed as I expected. The error msg returned was "file not found (*.img)", so I assume its looking for an img file, which is not in the file from the netgear download centre. Where do I get a complete version of the update and also, why does Orbi firmware auto update not update to this new security release version? Thanks -AnthonyRMA Process Issue
Good Morning Netgear Community, I'm in Melbourne, Australia. I purchased an RBK860 system from Netgear Australia (a 2 pack, black colour RBR & RBS 860 and 2 standalone, white colour RBS 860 satellites). A couple of days after it arrived, I decided to upgrade and purchase the RBKE 960 system instead and to return the 860 system. Netgear Australia have a 30 day return (for any reason) policy and my return requests/RMA have been approved by Netgear Australia. The approved RMA numbers are: xxxxxxx The return email says that I should be receiving a prepaid return label and satchel from StarTrack for this address: NETGEAR Returns LIKEWIZE AUSTRALIA PTY LTD Door 7, 11-13 ASH ROAD PRESTONS NSW 2170 AUSTRALIA However, I have not received these return label and satchels and I have not had any indication that the prepaid satchel has been delivered by the warehouse. I have called the Netgear customer care team on 1300 361 254 and they have created a case () for me to request that this be expedited and I have asked for a tracking number for the return satchel, but there are still no updates from the warehouse. Can someone please help me out? Thank youOrbi RBR863 reboots, connection drops after recent firmware releases
The only firmware versions that work with my Orbi are V7.2.6.31_5.0.24 and previous versions. The latest firmware versions result in slow download speeds, random dropouts/disconnects, and reboots. I have tried updating one by one manually, then a pinhole reset, with the same results. However, version V7.2.6.31_5.0.24 is starting to show issues across my network, such as device disconnects and random restarts. I am wondering if anyone else is having these issues and, if so, how to fix them. The units I have are engineering samples; I have had them since before the 860s were released.I have a running support case with the latest v15 firmware not reliably working
I have a running support case with the latest v15 firmware not reliably working for some Ethernet connected devices to the RBR860 router. These devices include an LG TV and MacBook Pro. They work fine on WiFi or on Ethernet on a satellite but not the RBR860. LG is unable to stream on any services like Netflix and Speedtest on MacBook is awful and won't even support a remote support session from NETGEAR. Reverting to the previous firmware and it's fine! It's an odd one but very reproducible and NETGEAR has acknowledged the issue specific to my environment. I'm not sure if others on the RBR860 have issue with Ethernet connected MacBook and LG TV.2GB into RBR860 but only 1GB out.
I recently upgraded to 2gb internet service but while the router speedtest shows 2GB coming in, my computers are only getting 1GB service. I've replaced all my 1GB switches with 2GB switches and have confirmed 2.5GB transfer speeds computer to computer. I did try tech support but was told because my "security" had expired my router was backed up with noise and that's why it can't get 2GB but I could buy security. I'm pretty sure this is BS because, again, I'm receiving 2GB service on the speedtest but they refused to help me any further because I wouldn't shell out for their security offering. Any thoughts on what I may have done incorrectly? It supposedly supports 2GB.Can I change the wifi channels on the Orbi Mesh/RBK862SB?
Hey, I'm considering changing the router. The current model is a 2-pack Deco X60/AX5400. While it works most of the time but the smart devices keep disconnecting and connecting. This Christmas, I'll add more smart cameras/sensors. I'm afraid it's going to be a nightmare for X60. so I have to think early. From what I have experienced with Deco, smart devices work well when the 2.4Ghz stays on channel 11/20mhz, but it keeps changing its mind:-(. Does RBK862SB allow me to manually change the wifi channels, especially for the 2.4ghz band? Thanks.Solved
