v2.1.3.4

My Orbi autoupgraded to v.2.1.3.4 this morning and I found tht ethernet backhaul no longer works. Is this expected behavior? Anyone else seeing this?

Do a full factory reset on both router and satellite then set up from scratch with ethernet back haul.

when you do a factory reset, does the Orbi/Sats reload the current FW?

Factory reset router and satellites. I wasn't able to reload the old config as it would make the router disappear from the wired side (e.g. it's old static IP wasn't reachable). So treated it like a new install. Got all satellites sync'd but one wouldn't use wired backhaul - only 5Ghz. So now trubleshooting that.

OK, swap satellites around to see if the problem tracks or not..

Should clear out all user configurations is all.

I'm seeing a problem of upgrading to newer versions of FW and older configurations or older code inhibiting good operation. After a factory reset, seems to clear out these problems and gets the code working properly. I believe this is a bug.

Thanks...In my case I'm running the Orbi/Sats with all default settings.  I've not made any changes.

If you experience any problems after upgrading FW, do a reset. I presume those problems should go away.

Also, after a reset and set up again, do a new save config file. I also found that using older saved config files cause problems with newer FW versions. So save off a new one.

I have a 3pc Orbi AC3000. For some reason, only one of the RBS50 satellites finds the new firmware v2.1.3.4. The other RBS50 and the RBR50 both say there is no new firmware version available. I assume that all 3 components need to run the same version though. I considered manual update, but I can't figure out where to download 2.1.3.4.

  • The whole day wasted on trying to get my home netowrk back in business, this firmware is causing the router to reboot every 2-3 minutes. we definitly need the option in the app to stop auto update in the ORBI routers and Satelites

Did you do a factory reset on both router and Satellite(s) then set up from scratch. Were seeing continued problems after the FW is updated and needs a full factory reset and set up again. Others have reported this and reported that after the reset, seems to clear the problems.

I did not wanted to do it at first because I label every device that connects to my network 120 of them, but as last resource I did reset the router & Satelite juts to find out it did not make any difference, router kept rebooting every 2-3 minutes, I fell back to V2.0.1.4 but I know it I will get the auto update some time in the near future.

  • System was updated to V2.1.3.4, ever since my ipad does not maintain a steady wifi signal.  Every few minutes it drops signal, not sure about my other Apple devices as the ipad is used for streaming movies and videos where the otthers are not.  Tried all of the Base and Sat Resets, and factory reset, and ipad power cycle, but same issue.

      Try using a manual channel 1, 6 or 11.

      Set 40Mhz Coexistence only.

Try disabling Beamforming, MIMO, Daisy Chain, Fast Romaing and IPv6 on the router.

Try setting WPA2 and PSK AES Only.

What iOS is loaded on the iPad?

And you did factory reset and set up from scratch on the router and satellite right?

        Thanks Furrye,

I've made all of your suggested adjustments and the iPad wifi connection now appears to be stable.  Seems to be a lot of manual settings to work with an iPad, btw iOS 9.3.5, it's an older iPad but most current iOS for the model.
