Nighthawk M6 Pro Ethernet port
After recent automatic update, Ethernet port on nighthawk M6 Pro not working. Can toggle it on/off, but has no output signal. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

Oh shoot, was just coming to report this exact issue. For me, the Ethernet port works for a span of like 2-7 minutes after restarting my router or computer, then it just suddenly is unable to identify the network. Nothing I've done has helped.

Yes, ours will stay up for 30 sec to 2-3 min before disconnecting. No amount of rebooting, turning/off Ethernet port makes a difference.

It's so strange. I've tried a factory reset to no avail, I've refreshed it's connection with AT&T from the website. My only idea would be to maybe... set a static IP, see if that works?

I’ve been experiencing what looks like the exact same Ethernet issue on my M6 Pro after the most recent firmware update, and I wanted to share the troubleshooting I’ve done so far.
Setup:- M6 Pro running on AC power (battery removed, sitting on an active cooling fan)
- Ethernet set to 1000BASE-T (also tested 2.5GBASE-T)
- Devices tested: Windows desktop, Raspberry Pi, and a small unmanaged switch
Symptoms:
- Ethernet works fine right after reboot
- After >3 minutes, the Ethernet port drops completely
- No IP address from DHCP, and even with a static IP I can’t ping the hotspot’s gateway (192.168.1.1)
- Devices disappear from the M6 dashboard when the drop occurs
- Only way to restore connectivity is to reboot the hotspot, but the cycle repeats
Troubleshooting already tried:
- Factory reset of the M6 Pro → no change
- Direct connection (no switch) → same issue
- Tested with both desktop and Raspberry Pi individually → same issue
- Forced Ethernet speed to 1000BASE-T instead of 2.5GBASE-T → no change
- Tried static IP configuration → no change
- Cooling + running with battery → no change
- Cooling + running without battery → no change
At this point it looks like the Ethernet interface itself is crashing at the firmware level, not just DHCP or NAT. The timing (always a few minutes after boot) makes it feel like a firmware regression introduced in the latest update.
Is this a known issue with the latest firmware?
Is there a way to roll back to the prior firmware build, which didn’t have this problem?
Any other workarounds besides relying on Wi-Fi?

Vanna, appreciate your in-depth troubleshooting steps. You did a couple that I did not. It does seem like this is directly tied to that firmware update.
I've searched thru the Netgear docs and can't find any info on this update. Anyone else found any docs or can get thru to the tech dept at Netgear?
Happening to me as well even done full factory reset

Same problem, ATT just wants to send me a new router but feel will have the same problem. Anyone been able to downgrade firmware.

Same issue. Has a fix been posted. Or a way to rollback recent update?
- AnnetteLTutor
I've got another M6 on the way so we'll see if that makes a difference. Since so many of us are having same problem, I do feel it's an induced problem due to the update.
Anyone got answers from Netgear yet?

MR6110 Ethernet Port Drops After Firmware v43 Update (Wi-Fi Unaffected)
Detailed Description
After the latest firmware update (verMajor 43), the Ethernet port on my MR6110 no longer functions reliably. Devices connect for a few minutes, then drop, and the link cycles between connected and disconnected.I expected the Ethernet port to provide a stable connection (as it did before this update). Instead, it repeatedly drops out, even when using a clean run and a known-good gigabit switch.
Steps to Reproduce
- Connect MR6110 via Ethernet to a TP-Link SG105 gigabit switch (or directly to a laptop).
- Device (laptop, Roku, etc.) initially connects and gets an IP.
- Within 2–5 minutes, the Ethernet link drops.
- Device attempts to reconnect, link reestablishes briefly, then drops again.
Expected vs. Actual Behavior
- Expected: Stable Ethernet connection at 100 Mbps or 1000 Mbps, as before the update.
- Actual: Ethernet port drops repeatedly. Wi-Fi continues to work fine.
Environment Details
- Device Model: Netgear Nighthawk MR6110 (AT&T variant)
- Firmware Version: v43 ("verMajor": 43 in model.json)
- Connection Type: LTE B14 + Band 2 CA
- Signal Quality: RSRP –86 dBm, SINR 16 dB
- Downstream Equipment: TP-Link SG105 (gigabit switch), Linksys E5350 (Fast Ethernet switch), Windows 10/11 laptops, Roku
Error Messages and Logs
No on-screen error messages, only Ethernet link drops. From model.json:
"ethernetSpeed": "100M", "ethernetDrvEnable": true, "profileList": [ { "id": "1", "ethena": "On", "ethspeed": "1000Base-T" }, { "id": "2", "ethena": "On", "ethspeed": "2.5GBase-T" } ]
Indicates the hardware supports 100M/1000M/2.5G, but currently only negotiates 100M and drops regardless of setting.
Frequency and Timing
- Issue occurs every time Ethernet is used.
- Started immediately after firmware v43 update.
- Ethernet was stable on prior firmware.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken
- Forced MR6110 Ethernet to 100BASE-TX.
- Forced MR6110 Ethernet to 1000BASE-T.
- Tested direct laptop connections (short patch cable).
- Tested with TP-Link SG105 switch.
- Tested with Linksys E5350 switch.
- Restarted devices and MR6110.
- All result in the same drop behavior.
Additional Context
- Wi-Fi performance remains normal (stable at 50–120 Mbps).
- The issue affects all downstream devices, not just one.
- Multiple users online are reporting similar Ethernet failures post-update (Reddit, Netgear forums).
