Can't Mount SMB/CIFS Shares in OS X Sierra Public Beta 4
Latest firmeware 4.4.28 and I suspect it's a Sierra issue but I see the drive and shares and am promtped to authenictate which seems to work. Trying to mount or view files results in a time out. Drive is fine as it is viewable via Paralells (Windows) and seems quite faster to browse than it did in OS X btw.

It could well be a bug with Sierra.
Once Sierra is released (I guess probably sometime within the next couple of months) if the issue is still there one would then need to see if there are any workarounds.- ovrdrvnAspirant
Should it be much faster to browse in Windows? As I'm using Parallels i'm quite surprised how much faster it seems.

Posted in the Apple developer forum and put in a bug report. That said, some other devlopers say SMB and NAS units are working for them but none are Netgear. I have a ReadyNAS Ultra 6 and I've tried a few tricks like turning off client negotiation on the Mac but still can't access any shares.

I think that Sierra requires SMB signatures by default. Not sure if that is the problem, but you might look for a way to turn that off.
