Lost a subdir within a share

Hi All,

Not sure if this has happened to anyone. I'm not also sure if I'm posting in the right forum.

Since I bought and installed my Readynas Ultra 4, I haven't had any issues. I started with 2 3TB hdds and later added 1 more. So I now have 5.4TB with 1.9TB available.

I have 3 shares: media, backup and website. I don't use the website share a lot. I use my Readynas with my Windows 7 Dell Precision M6700. I have 2 standard accounts which I'll call User1 and User2. The active user is the first one and the 2nd one I use mainly to update my wife's iPad and very recently her iPhone5. I was trying to sync the Outlook (Office 2010 Business version) to this iPhone5 when my problem happened.

I maintain 2 iTunes library (for myself and for my spouse) and I store them in the Readynas under the media share. The media share has the ff subdirs: music, ebooks, photos, videos.

I logged on to User2's account. I didn't see the ReadyNAS network shares. I looked around and found out that I did not have access to the shares. But ran RaidAir without any problems. All systems go. Then I opened my browser and accessed the frontview for the network and everything seemed to be working well. So I was wondering why User2 has no access to the shares.

Instead of STOPPING my activity and reading the manual, I went to my Public/Videos folder which had a link to my Videos subdir. Upon clicking, I was asked for the Username and Password to the network/share and I entered the one that I have previously set up for this user when I first installed the ReadyNAS. And it worked. Next, I opened iTunes using my wife's library and synced Outlook and some songs. I logged off from User2 and went back to my own User1 account.

The Music subdir is missing from the media share. I only had ebooks, Photos and the Videos subdirs. I rebooted my ReadyNAS and also my laptop. Still missing. I did a filesystem check from the ReadyNAS frontview. Still missing. I still had 1.9TB free so I'm quite sure that the Music is still there but could be hidden.

What can I do to recover this? I have a backup of Music subdir in an external hdd. It's not the latest (several months old) but it's better than nothing. I actually copied this to the media share and the free space was cut to 1.7TB. So I'm quite sure the missing Music subdir is still there. Is this recoverable?

Thanks for any help.
