Plex Updated and lost my liberys...but
Yesterday my Plex app updated on my ReadyNAS 214, however my library and metadata are no longer there and had to create a new server....but when im in plex choosing a folder i can see in the /app folder and see that my old plex media server folder is still there with all my Metadata, but im unable to access the /app folder in windows explore or in the NAS admin page. how do i turn on hidden folders within the NAS so i can copy my data over to the other folder that aperantly Plex decited to make?

\\ip of nass\data or further information get network error windows cannot access said path...but when I do \\ip\Videos or other folders they load up nicely, granted I know because they are public folders but for some reason I cannot get the hidden ones to load up.That's probably because you aren't using admin credentials for the NAS. Another possibility is that you are using flexraid, and named the volume something else.
Assuming the volume is called data, then open CMD and enter
net use * /delete
net use t: \\ip-of-nas\data /user:admin nas-admin-password
That should mount "data" as drive letter t.

First you need to use windows credentials to access the data volume.
From there it helps a little if you enable hidden files from Windows. But you can enter \data\.apps into the address bar and get into the .apps folder.

The Plex app for the RN214 is the Annapurna build, the one for "ARM 6.x RN2XXX" available at plex.tv/downloads. Is that the one you installed both now and previously?

That is what i used to update, since the plex app was no longer downloadable through the READYNAS app store, and when i was on the plex site i tried to download the other arm 6. one but for some reason my nas system said it couldn't use this app/program/file.

- KevinP93AspirantIn CMD I'm able to type in the net path, but then is ask's for the admin password but I'm unable to type anything in for password...all I can do is push enter and it comes up as "system error 86 has occurred... the specified network password is incorrect"
What would hinder me from typing the PW in CMD?- StephenBGuru - Experienced User
It sounds like you might be mis-typing the command. The version I gave you has the NAS password on the command line itself.
That is, the actual NAS password should have been entered instead of nas-admin-password
- KevinP93AspirantWow, I take that back... The command was completed successfully, however it was not mounted on computer or to the T Drive.

The command assumes that T isn't used for anything else. If that's not the case, you need to substitute a different drive letter.
Do you have any internet security software running on the Windows PC?
- KevinP93AspirantWell after submitting that last post I finally got in. No I didn't have anything mounted on t before or even after...... but for some reason I could now do \ip of nas\data and it finally showed up after doing the CMD walk-through. I'm now in the process of moving my old meta-data over to the new folder now!
Thank you all so much for the help and knowledge given!!- JennCNETGEAR Employee Retired
