Is there an option to have the frame display portrait photos side-by-side when it's in landscape orientation? I prefer to have the auto-fill function off (and don't mind the black side bars), and want the frame to display both portrait and landscape photos without having to manually adjust the physical orientation of the frame. But I find that the portrait photos look too small with so much black bar space on either side. The perfect solution would be if portraits could be displayed two at a time, side-by-side (like the Aura Carver frame does).

Allow the user to see a "List View" of the photos in their playlists. This list should have a small thumbnail of the image and column of important data such as File Name, and Date uploaded. Allow the user to sort by these columns in list view. This will give the user a much better experience looking for duplicates on large playlists

I cannot believe there is no user manual for this product. I bought a Meural as a present for a non-technical person and she had no idea how to use it and wanted to return it. I had to spend hours explaining. You cannot expect every buyer to be a techie

Hi! Gesture control can be a blessings or curse depending on your environment. I periodically get false gesture detections which is annoying. It would be great if there was a way to enable/disable this feature. Control from the app may be good enough in many sistuations, such as mine. Thanks. BibMo

This is not a new idea, but the computer/phone UI for the canvas REALLY needs to be improved. In fact, I was going to subscribe to the service for the art, which looks great on the Meural, but due to the extreme difficulty I've experienced trying to deal with playlists and adding my own photos or, God forbid, trying to change a group of photos, I've decided I can't expend the time and mental energy dealing with what unknowns a subscription would bring. So my idea for Netgear is: improve the UI (I've seen many good sugestions in the community), and maybe you'd get a lot more people subscribing/buying the art, which I'm sure is the real business model for this product. Thanks.

Does anyone have any creative ideas on how to take a google photo ablum (mispelled on purpose because apparantly you cant use that word in the forum?) and map it to a Meural Playlist? I can't seem to find any API's that I could right script or a tool to do this with. Thanks J

Current image transitions between artwork are rather jarring, and refresh surprisingly slowly - you can see the image move onto the screen from left to right. The jarring transition effect attracts attention towards the frame even when you're currently looking elsewhere, making it more apparent that the frame is digital and that the artwork changed. This is especially unproductive in a work environment, where people's focus can be actively pulled away from their work. Artwork changes should happen as unnoticeably as possible, both to keep people focused and to make the frame look more natural. More smooth transitions, such as fades between each piece of artwork, would be preferable. A setting to be able to choose transition effect, and maybe even set duration of such an effect, would be amazing.

HI In terms of the hardaware the Meural is great however I feel a few updates to the software sides of things could grately improve opeation. The main thing I would like would be proper file directory(playlist) structure mainly to better manage persoal photos. So for example one could organise their Meural as follows: Family Photos - Travel - KIds - Birthdays Travel - Europe - Germany -Africa - Ethiopia - 2016 - 2019 Meural Content - Modern - Classic - Vertical -Horizontal The same should also be applied to SD cards. So the file structure is automatically converted into sub directories aka Playlists.

We have had the canvas just a short 6 weeks and I have run out of space as of this am. I am currently awaiting a reply from customer service if I can buy additional space. Before this issue came up we were discussing buying a second canvas, but as two canvases share the amount of cloud space, this offers no help to our problem. We are nowhere near the number of photos we want on the canvas and were anticipating growing into the canvas over years, not weeks. HELP!

There are several artists with large bodies of work who are (a) still alive and (b) already embracing digital media. I'd love to be able to support them and display their works on my Meural without going through the work of purchasing, downloading, and re-uploading their art. I also worry about file formats, file sizes, etc. Could you allow us to directly connect with artists who may be willing to have their art added to a Meural collection for members? Or at least a way for owners/members to suggest that Meural reach out to an artist, or have a contact page for artists to contact Meural?

I have a suggestion when adding new art to a playlist. When new art is added into a playlist it gets displayed immediatley onto the canvas. My suggestion - I would like to be able to add new art to a playlist but not have it displayed until I choose it. Often when I obtain new art from the website, I already have the artwork displayed on the canvas that I've chosen for the day. When the art changes on the canvas after adding new art to a playlist, I have to go back and find the one that was already being displayed and put it back onto the canvas. Thanks for taking this into consideration if there's a way to make this happen.

Manipulating uploaded photos, Meural Gallery works, and playlists one by one is extremely tedious and time-consuming. Please let us select multiple uploaded files / gallery works to batch delete files and works, and batch add or delete from Playlists. Thank you!

The right way to go is to use a built-in power supply with just a "8"or Mickey Mouse or IEC socket on the frame. External power adapters are indicating junk class products and are har to hide behind the frame. Netgear does it perfectly right on the bigger Ethernet switches.

It's nice that you have choices in sizes but would like to see a larger frame than the original one. The wall transformer/plug needs to be greatly reduced in size. When we had an electrician bury the plug in the wall, we needed an absolutely HUGE box - to contain the plug. The frames look so much better without the plug hanging down when they are mounted on a wall without "sitting" on a table. Love, love my meural so hope to see these improvements

Develop the ability for the Meural to pull photos directly from a dropbox folder. This will allow for users to manage large amounts of files using the comfort of their own computers.

My kids bought me the Meural last month for my birthday. The hardware is great except for the humongous plug that my electrician finally figured out what to do with. My major problem is the lack of storage and the inferior software/app controlling the Meural. I would have expected much better from a company like Netgear. Your storage for my personal photography is miniscule and your cloud is extremely expensive so I bought a Micro SD card as suggested by Netgear. Boy was I disappointed in trying to use the SD card. The SD card is not shown on the app (Apple) you can only play it by waving at the Meural. Because the SD card does not show on app, the Schedule can't be set to use the SD Card so every morning I start with Works which I don't want. You can't add any of your museum art to the SD only to the cloud and internal memory You can't add peronsal pictures to the SD card from my phone or PC on the app but I have to take the Meural off the wall and take out the SD card Tech support only wants me to become a member, which I did with my free year, but this will not solve my problem in 12 months when my free subscription is over. In 2020 these should be basic functions to control and manage the Meural. Very disappointed, maybe my kids should have just bought me a TV to hang. Hopefully these are easy fixes that if Netgear wants to satisfy its customers can implement very rapidly.

Since the Meural device maintains a constant internet connection, it would be good to utilize the connectivity for gesture and proximity based functions, as well as event based functions. Imagine having your Meural device displaying artwork and photos, then you hear your smart doorbell ring, and immediately, your mural displays a live view of the doorbell camera (user customizable timeout, e.g., 20 seconds). Or another scenario, the Meural is displaying artwork, and you approach it, and the gesture sensor being used as a makeshift proximity sensor, is able to display low opacity overlay of some of the metadata of the photo. Or you approach the Meural and perform a custom gesture where the device pulls up an info screen displaying various preset dashboards, e.g., weather, network stats (integrating with Netgear routers), or even displaying custom dashboards from services like grafana. It may even be possible to integrate with IP camera systems and provide quick gesture access to the camera views, but then smoothly transitioning back to the photos and other artwork when you step away from the device. While the primary function remains to display images and other artwork, the networking capabilities can be leveraged to provide other value-add functions. Depending on how much the gesture sensor can be adjusted, it could double for both gestures and proximity. Or since there is a vertical and horizontal sensor, depending on orientation, one could be set to a longer range and higher sensitivity for proximity detection, while the other is used for gesture input.

Wouldn't it be great if you could manage your meural playlists from within Lightroom? This could involve synching of smart playlists (which would automatically add, delete or modify playlist photos. Even if playlist management not possible, should be possible to synch with uploads.

I was so excited to discover the Canvas frames, and as a family of photographers and artists, we would love to fill our home and offices with them. However, the aspect ratio of 16:9 is just a no go. Professional film cameras and digital camera sensors tend to have 3:2 aspect ratios (sometimes 4:3). While 16:9 is a common screen ratio for computers, TVs, and phones, most professional photographers shoot in 3:2 or something close to it, even if they're going to crop to something like 16:9. I have decades of photos I'd love to display on the Canvas, both from traditional film and from my 3:2 format digital cameras. But I didn't shoot for 16:9. Cropping them that way ruins the artistic intent of my composition at best, and is impossible at worst. Further, how many painters have regularly painted on anything that approximates 16:9? Just scanning through the gallery of art available with a Canvas Premium membership reveals the violence that needs to be done to them to crop them at 16:9. It's painful to look at. I realize that there is most likely a cost consideration in this decision. 16:9 panels are mass produced and therefore probably cheaper. But if you want to attract photographers and artists, I think you need a 3:2 aspect panel. Even 4:3, which was a common panel size before 16:9 become the standard, and may be more affordable, would be a vast improvement. I'll be the first one in line to buy multiple 3:2 (or even 4:3) aspect Canvas frames! Thanks so much for considering this request. *For those interested, here's a helpful video on aspect ratio: https://youtu.be/wQ0m75bGGGg?t=79
