I have a netgear 33 model #R6220. I have noticed on my phone I am connected but have no internet. The modem is working just fine. I have an ethernet cable from modem to my laptop and router. I am currntly typing this from my laptop. So I have internet. I went to best buy and bought a new netgear 45 wireless router. It is doing the same thing. I have used the ethernet cable that I am using for my laptop thinking the cable could be bad. Nope not the case still no internet.
Can anyone help me out
Thank you
Tom

Who's your ISP?
The majority of ISP's only support 1 device connected to the sb8200 even though it has more than 1 ethernet port.
Try this.
disconnect everything from the sb8200 and the r6220 and power them both off. even disconnect the coax from the sb8200.
Wait 2 minutes.
Connect the coax back to the sb8200 and power it on.
Wait 2 minutes for it to fully boot.
Plug the R6220 into port 1 on the sb8200 and power the router on.
Try it then
don't plug anything else but the router into the sb8200. If your ISP is one of the bigger ones, they only assign 1 public ip address to the sb8200 and if its to your computer/other device, the router doesn't get an public ip address and won't be online

Re: R6220 - not connecting to internet
If you can connect more than 1 device to your modem, it isn't just a modem. Its a modem/router combo device. And it'll cause a double nat.
A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.

Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
1. Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions.
2. Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
3. Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.

Re: R6220 - not connecting to internet
I have an ARRIS Surfboard SB8200. I have never had this problem until now. I have had both the modem and wireless route for 2 years.
