Hi,
I have several devices connected to my switch .
The problem is when I start up my pc, the connected camera goes offline....when I switch the pc off the camera comes back online again.
I did changed (cam ip) and checked the IP numbers of those two devices and did not see any conflicts.
1. PC = 192.168.188.119
2. Cam = 192.168.188.125
3. Switch = 192.168.188.52
Because I am a noob in network switches I have to ask your help what I have to do or change in the switch settings.....I did had a look in the manual but could not find any topic about solving conflicts. like this.
I'll hope anyone can help me, thank you in advance.
Greetings Eric..

Hi,
I will cancel my help request because I did put the lan cable from my camera in to a powerswitch and still having the same problem so I quess it has to do with the router or the camera itself.
Thank you for your help and keep up the good work...take care..
Greetings Eric

Re: GS108Ev3 camera going offline...
Are both PC and the camera directly hardwired to the GS108Ev3?
The problem is when I start up my pc, the connected camera goes offline....when I switch the pc off the camera comes back online again.
What is the behavior of the port LEDs on the GS108Ev3 where the PC and the camera are connected? Does the corresponding port LED goes off where the camera is connected whenever the PC turns on?
I did changed (cam ip) and checked the IP numbers of those two devices and did not see any conflicts.
1. PC = 192.168.188.119
2. Cam = 192.168.188.125
3. Switch = 192.168.188.52
Since you mentioned that you changed the IP address of the camera, how did you access its settings? I believe you need to use a PC connected to the same network (or switch) to gain access to it.
What is the current firmware version of the GS108Ev3?

Re: GS108Ev3 camera going offline...
Hi DaneA,
Thank you for your reply.
Firmware version: 2.06.17
The IP adres camera was changed on PC thru a CMS program...on a moment the cam returned online for a couple of minutes again.
The weird part is when the pc is offline the cam connection is stable.
When the pc is comming online it's going offline and online randomly...but mostly offline.
Port 5 = PC
Port 2 = Cam
Port 1 = UTP from router.
Led lights at port 5 (PC) did not change at all.
The Led light on the right (left led is off) at port 2 (Cam) goes out for a second at some point, but most of the time it is blinking normaly while at the same time the led I see in the UTP cable connection towards the Cam is going out, slow blinking and sometime fast blinking when the Cam is working again. This all is happening while the led at port 2 is blinking as normal.
Greetings Eric

Re: GS108Ev3 camera going offline...
Sorry, forgot this one:
"Are both PC and the camera directly hardwired to the GS108Ev3? "
Yes, both are hardwired to port 2 and 5 of the switch.

Re: GS108Ev3 camera going offline...
Are there any settings configured on your GS108Ev3 like VLAN or are you using the GS108Ev3 just like an unmanaged switch?
Are you using a CAT5E ethernet cable on both of your PC and camera?
What is the brand and specific model of your camera?
Is the firmware of your camera updated? If not, you might need to update the firmware of it.
Regards.
