404 file not found

When trying to reach my readynas nv+ from my external ip (done all after the instructio here how to turn on the webdav) I just got the pink side say 404 not found and a acme http shit something under...
Have opened 443 port and all I can get from typing my external ip is the Belkin n300 page. Even opened the DMZ för the readynas and only thing that happende was that the pink side didnt come up..just nothing hapened instead.. Get crazy soon..Tested this for days now and cant get it right.
Reason for all this is that I Want to try to use the readynas to handle my ics calenderfile from outlook since google dont work anymore..

Re: 404 file not found

Probably the belkin is using 443 for remote administration.

Try configuring the NAS to use an alternative http port (say 50443), and forward that port. Then access the share using https://externalip:50443/sharename.

If all you are doing is uploading an ics file, then you don't need webdav (though you can of course use it).

Also, you probably will want a ddns service, since your external IP will change w/o notice. noip still offers a free one.

I suggest taking the NAS out of the DMZ though.

Re: 404 file not found

Thanks but how do I change the nas port then? Of course i stopped the DMZ ..( have been flooded to much anyway 😞 and its just when my wifes kids is online every second week when they live here its happening..)
I would like to use the nas as a server for my different outlook calenders in all my computers and my smartphone as well how do I do? have you any suggestions?

Re: 404 file not found

In frontview select services, then standard file protocols. scroll down to https, and set the secondary port (port 2)

Re: 404 file not found

Does it work on your local lan (using the NAS internal address, but the secondary port)?

Did you check that the port you used was open using http://www.canyouseeme.org/?

Knowing those two pieces of information will help isolate the issue to your NAS, your router, or your ISP.

Re: 404 file not found

Well, if http://www.canyouseeme.org/ doesn't see it as open, than it probably isn't open. Perhaps your ISP only opens some port ranges - you might need to contact them.

Re: 404 file not found

In firefox all my ports are open but not in crome. Anyway I cant come in to the share.. it says when looking further "This website does not supply ownership information."
I have a static ip
The reason for doing all this is that i thought i could put my calendar.ics file there and then all my computers and smartphoens could read and write that file but maybe thats not possible anyway.. Use to use googlecalender but nowdays it doesnt work as it used to anymore and i wanted another way to handle my calendar.. im starting to get old and that calendar is my memory nowdays 😞 I could not be without..

Re: 404 file not found

You will get certificate warnings that you need to click through with Chrome.

I don't think your systems will access the calendar remotely anyway.

Re: 404 file not found

Okey. Thanks for your valuable help anyway Stephen. I stop the ports again since I can see through my log in the router that about ten different IP:S have had contact with my nas on the port 433 under the night and don't know if anybody is inside my Readynas sneaking around and that feels very unsafe 😞 I Have to deal with my calendar in some other way.

Re: 404 file not found

Whenever you forward a port you need to have a strong password. Outsiders will scan the ports (though not all of that is malicious).

The need for a good password especially applies to your belkin router, since you have apparently configured it to allow administration over the internet. If someone guesses that password, they have full access to your home network.

Re: 404 file not found

Have had a lot of problem since i was flooded some times ago, Think my 2 teenage boys is out o strange sites and use strange programs sometimes. Now i have a something like 15 letter and number password and hope this will stop anyone to the get into my system. Under a long time I have felt that internet sometimes is very slow 😞
Have stooped all the ports and from now there isn't anybody trying to connect. Though i am a little afraid that someone maybe has loaded all my nas files and there is some pictures that I don't want out on the net..20 years old but on my former girlfriend and she wouldn't be happy to see them that's for sure.hahaha

Re: 404 file not found

Personally I use a Netgear R7000. A lot depends on what kind of WiFi coverage you are wanting, as well as the speed of your internet connection.
