Accessing ReadyNas with iPad

Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with applications that will allow to access ReadyNas from iPad/iPhone. I know about ReadyNas Remote but I'm not sure about having my whole data accessible from Internet. So for now, I'm looking for WLAN solution, I have found few applications just wondering if anyone can share thoughts.

Re: Accessing ReadyNas with iPad

Hello!

Since I only use my iPad to look at videos, I connect to my ReadyNAS using http. I have converted all my videos to x264 so the iPad can stream them just fine from Safari and so I've just enabled http on my media share.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for input. For streaming on iDevices I'm using AirVideo. I'm looking for solutions to browse pictures. Really CBA to sync them with iTunes everytime.

ReadyNAS Remote for iOS provides secure access to your data over a software VPN. You can only access data shared via FTP using this. The app is now free and worth taking a look at.

Only via ftp? I think you got it wrong here. Besides still not what I'm looking for. I don't want data to be accessible from outside my Lan.
I've found this http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/filebrow ... 8545?mt=8#

I was talking about ReadyNAS Remote for iOS (http://www.readynas.com/remote_iphone) which you say you don't want.

For pictures I'm not sure ReadyNAS Remote will work very well. I'm guessing you get a list of the pictures available and then have to browse them one-by-one rather than seeing a preview on all the pictures which isn't ideal. I guess you'll have to wait for iCloud in october or whenever that becomes available!

Oh, I had no idea that from iOS devices access is via ftp. That's no go for me. But thanks anyway.
