ReadyNAS Pro 2 - no access

Hi,
I have suddenly lost access to the data on my ReadyNAS Pro 2. I can log in via the Web admin interface, but all file sharing protocols are off and can not be turned on.
The situation seems similar to that here Shares-lost and I suspect it is due to log msgs causing full OS partition.
But I have also lost ssh access -so I can not see or login to clear.
How can I fix this?
Regards
/Andy

Well, the original post was suggesting that you use the procedure here: http://onlyblueatwork.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/net
followed by mdgm's suggestions after you clean the OS partition
# cd
# sync
# umount /mnt
# mdadm --stop --scan
do you have a backup?

Re: ReadyNAS Pro 2 - no access
Hi Mike,
Looks like you are using OS 6. I did not upgrade to that. So while the causes may be similar my issue looks different. I can not enable any protocols and the share list has disappeared.

Re: ReadyNAS Pro 2 - no access
andy-b, this thread might be helpful: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Legacy-NETGEAR-and-Partners-Add/Screwed-sshd-Service/td-p/878508
You could also get per-incident support from Netgear.

Re: ReadyNAS Pro 2 - no access
StephenB,
this looks promising but when I try to install Enable Root SSH Access from http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24551
I get "Update file is not valid for this architecture."
Is this the right one or this a misleading error message?

Re: ReadyNAS Pro 2 - no access
Andy - I thought you did not have web ui access. That is why I linked in a procedure using tech support mode - which doesn't need you to enable ssh.
If you do have web ui access, then you want the add-on for x86 for 4.2.x firmware. A direct link is here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ReadyNAS/ADDON/4.2(X86)/EnableRootSSH_1.0-x86.bin

Re: ReadyNAS Pro 2 - no access
Stephen,
I have access to WebUI but actions are not working. Your link is the one I was using. It reports "Update file is not valid for this architecture."

Re: ReadyNAS Pro 2 - no access
The boot to Tech support option worked for me. And I can now see all my data.
Thanks.

(I had a backup but it was older than it should have been 🙂
