ReadyNAS® Remote and ReadyNAS Photos2 services will be discontinued on September 30th, 2017. ReadyNAS Replicate service will be discontinued on October 31st, 2020. After end-of-service dates for the respective services above, the following will apply: Customers will not be able to upload, download, share and edit photos through ReadyNAS Photos2 service Customers will not be able to remotely access the ReadyNAS using ReadyNAS Remote service, including web admin interface, and sharing Customers will not be able to create ReadyNAS Remote Accounts (used for ReadyNAS Remote and ReadyNAS Replicate) once the ReadyNAS Remote service is discontinued (existing accounts can continue to be used with ReadyNAS Replicate till that service is discontinued) Customers will not be able to use ReadyNAS Replicate to copy and restore data from one ReadyNAS to another, locally or through the Internet For comparable services to ReadyNAS Photos2 and Remote, a customer that is not already on a ReadyNAS OS 6 storage device may benefit by upgrading to a ReadyNAS that supports ReadyCLOUD. ReadyNAS Replicate users should upgrade to a Business Class ReadyNAS which supports ReadyDR. ReadyCLOUD is a cloud service that enables remote access, sharing of data, and streaming of media files. ReadyCLOUD runs on Internet browsers, and has a Windows app that supports folder backup and folder synchronization between the PC and the ReadyNAS. In addition, ReadyCLOUD has an iOS and Android app that allows viewing and sharing of files and uploading content from the photo album from anywhere. ReadyCLOUD is supported in ReadyNAS OS 6. https://readycloud.netgear.com ReadyNAS Replicate is a file level backup function. In October 2016, NETGEAR launched ReadyDR, a block-level backup function. ReadyDR is a significant enhancement over ReadyNAS Replicate. While ReadyNAS Replicate backs up only SMB shares, ReadyDR backs up SMB shares, iSCSI LUNs, and any type of data in a virtualized storage. Because backup is performed at the block level, it is incremental, continuous, and requires far less network bandwidth. ReadyDR is supported in ReadyNAS OS 6 on business class ReadyNAS models. [Foot note] We look forward to continuing to support your personal and business data storage needs. We hope that you will find the new software and services more efficient, friendly, and productive. As of ReadyNAS OS 6.6.0-RC1 the following NETGEAR apps have been found incompatible with ReadyNAS OS 6.6.0 and removed from our available apps pending update. Downloads for users requiring these apps are available below. ReadyNAS Surveillance This issue has been resolved in the following versions: 1.4.3-15 for amd64 1.1.4-5 for armel Original post: 1.1.2-3 for armel 1.4.2-3 for amd64 Users installing ReadyNAS Surveillance on a freshly installed ReadyNAS OS 6.6.0 system will receive the following error after login: You have been idle more than 10 minutes, the system logged you out. You will then be forwarded back to the login page. This does not affect users who have previously installed the app on ReadyNAS OS before 6.6.0 and then upgrade to 6.6.0, unless an apt-get upgrade operation is performed (upgrading the version of PHP5 included in the ReadyNAS from v5.4 to v5.6, and causing the issue). NETGEAR is aware of this issue and working on a resolution. ReadyNAS Photos II 2.0.5 for amd64 2.0.5 for armel Users may experience issues configuring the app on a fresh install, photo upload, or performing operations in the main web interface. OK, so I have been wondering how to redirect my own domain name to the ReadyNAS box for a while and have been using a solution based on "http://[DYNDNS_ManagedByRouter]:8086/photos2" which has been working. Apart from the fact that my office blocks 8086, so I can't get access from there to show people.. I decided it made sense to change the Photos II settings so it ran on port 80 - clever, I thought, seeing as all web traffic works on 80. Photos II seemed happy with the arrangement and let me change the port but now I have a problem - I can't access the settings or albums in Photos II or even the Duo V2 dashboard.. I realise the error I have made (80 is obviously reserved for the control panel stuff) but how do I change the Photos II port back to 8086 without starting the box from scratch? (There are lots of photos already shared on it and I've been through that twice already - it's very tedious and the whole box is surprisingly hard work for someone who's worked in IT for over 10 years!) Can I change it though MySQL or by SSH or something? Also, why on Earth would Photos II let me do such a thing?! Maybe I'll just stop using it until it actually feels like a finished, polished product :( TIA, JamesIntegration with Readynas Vault
Hi Is there any plans to integrate this with readynas Vault? I have a folder called pictures (with subfolders location etc) - this automatically backs up to the vault weekly. I'd like to be able to pull the source from the vault instead of having to reupload them from my readynas (ineffect twice) - this should in turn determine the actual source folder on the nas, so if you upload pics directly to Photos II, they also transfer down to the NAS and evetually back to the vault (full circle) This would be sweetHow to increase max upload size for piwigo
I tried asking this question in the piwigo forums since it seems to be a common complaint that the max size for uploading files is 2 MB. There wasn't much help as soon as "ReadyNAS" was mentioned, the response basically being "nothing to do with us it's a setting on the ReadyNAS box". So I looked around and found how to change this. It's quite simple once you know how. But you do have to enable and use SSH (if you don;t know what that is or how to use it, then it;s probably best to stop there as playing around with it could lead to issues and you are warned about enabling it). On the assumption you know what you're doing... read on.. You need to modify php.ini - you will find the keywords "upload_max_filesize" and "post_max_filesize". These were set to 2M and 8M respectively in my case - piwigo uses the "upload_max_filesize" setting. So you can increase that up to "post_max_filesize". In other words, up to 8M - if you want more than 8M then you have to increase both values. The file itself (php.ini) is located at /etc/php5/apache2 I used vi to modify it, then you have to restart the ReadyNAS box (you might be able to just restart piwigo but I couldn;t find that part out). Can't login?
Hello everybody, Recently i purhcased a ReadyNAS duo, but i'm having problems logging into readynas Photo's. It keeps saying login failed, Then i click forgot password, Generate a new password, ( Then i automatically login ) Once i click ReadyNAS Photos on my desktop i can't login anymore. Help me out please :( Thanks ;)ReadyNAS Photos II Service
As the ReadyNAS Photos II Service is currently down, as confirmed by Netgear Support, I suggest that the top line posting in this sub-forum is for a announcement to this effect, with updates as necessary on the status (eg. anticipated date for getting the service up again). This will help new users that have installed the Add-in, and then come to this forum to find out why it isn't working. "Looking for Success Stories with Photos II" should take position 2 for now, in my humble opinion, or its title should be changed. :( Meanwhile, I have switched back to Picassa for now.Photos II warning when sending album sharing email
