Lately, we've been experiencing periodic connectivity issues with devices (e.g. - phones, tablets, laptops, et al.) on our home network. Today, I decided to try to tackle it. Waaaay too many hours later, I decided to start from scratch--I disconnected my Orbi router from my modem, unplugged my modem, waited a few minutes, plugged my modem back in, plugged my Orbi back in, connected my modem to my Orbi--and now my desktop pc won't recognize my Orbi network. Currently, my desktop PC is connected directly to my modem, so I know it's not a modem issue. What's going on with my Orbi??? When I ran the diagnostics on my Windows PC desktop, it said the DNS was not responding. I attempted to manually enter a DNS and an alternate DNS according to web guidance, still to no avail. When my Orbi is connected, the white light flashes slowly. When I unplug it from the modem, it lights a steady magenta light. Anybody got any suggestions???Brief magenta then long blue light on RBS50 satellite
Several times last night the RBS50 satellite would flash magenta briefly and then go to blue for a few minutes before shutting off the lights completely. I'm still getting a connection on the satellite but it's at a slower, inconsistent speed. Been on 2.0.0.74 for weeks and haven't moved the router or the satellite; no new devices added that might create RF interference. Performance when clients are wirelessly connected to the router are solid. I have recently connected our security system to the router via ethernet, but will have to see if disconnecting that has any impact. Suggestions? Reset the satellite?LB1120 - 4G LTE Modem - No Connectivity (Bell LTE in Canada)
Just got one of these, specifically for the bridge mode. For use in Canada on the Bell Mobility LTE network (which I understand is supposed to be compatible. Had the SIM in a Huwei hub provided by Bell, which worked just fine. Anyway, put the SIM in the Netgear, powered on and connected directly to my PC with Ethernet. Log in and it indicates that I'm disconnected. Interestingly, it shows me an SMS, so at least those are coming through. I check the APN settings and notice it's set to pda.bell.ca. Check on the Bell site, and for turbo sticks it's supposed to be set to inet.bell.ca. So I change it. Still no connectivity. So I try manually selecting the network. When I scan, it usually shows me three networks. Bell, Rogers, and sometimes Telus but other times EXT. I have no idea what EXT is. The first time I do this, it shows Rogers as current. So I think that must be the problem. I select Bell and wait. Nothing happens. Try it again. This time after the scan it shows "EXTUS" (whatever that is) as current. Try selecting Bell again. No change. See screenshots below. Also tried turning it on and off between the change in settings. Didn't make a difference. Still disconnected. I'm pretty sure it isn't a problem with the SIM card, as it worked on the Huawei and I seem to be geting some basic connectivity (i.e. the SMS message and the ability to scan for networks). Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Not sure what else I'm supposed to do, short of returning the thing. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.SolvedBandwidth
Before I got the Orbi, I had the Luma. I've since returned the Luma, but something is bothering me. With the Luma when I ran speed test on fast.com, I would consistently get close to the bandwidth I pay for. With the Orbi I'm getting less on both wired and wireless. It's about half the speed. Any ideas why? If I run a speed test directly at the modem, I get the speeds I pay for. My setup is as follows: modem to Orbi. Desktop connected to Orbi.SolvedMy nether extender can't recognise my new router.
I've upgraded my router and my Netgear extender can't find it / connect to it. I've tried connecting the two with an ethernet cable, manually changing the IP address and downloading a Netgear wizard, but nothing has worked. Any ideas?2.5KViews0likes1CommentComcast customers: will Firmware V3.01.14 fix my N450 (CG3000Dv2) connectivity issues?
For the past half a year, my N450 (CG3000Dv2) cabel modem router has been completely unreliable. It regularly drops connection. Sometimes restarting helps, sometimes it doesn't. I've rebooted the box a couple times, and that helps for maybe a day, sometimes less. This connectivity issue seems to be a common complaint for N450, and also seems to be tied to the V3.01.06 firmware (makes sense to me, based on when my problems started). I see that V3.01.14 has been pushed by Comcast to its customers. Any Comcast N450 customers on here who had connectivity issues with V3.01.06? And if so, did those problems go away with V3.01.14? I have Spectrum, which is still using V3.01.06. It's really frustrating to be experiencing this problem, especially since I had suffered through the same issue over a year ago. That time, the probably spontaneously resolved, presumably when the Firmware was updated. I think it happened around the same time as the Time Warner Cable merger with Charter, and this time the problem seems to correspond with the mergers with Spectrum.3.9KViews0likes8CommentsNighthawk M1 loosing 4G connectivity and not getting it back
I'm having issues with my australian Nighthawk M1 while in France, with a french SIM card and a french LTE provider (Free). After a few hours, randomly, the 4G connexions is lost and it does not come back unless I either reboot the routeur, or simply change any of the cellular connectivity settings. I'm near Paris, near the antenna and getting nearly 100 Mbps down & 30 Mbps up. So the connectivity is excellent, I don't think it is an issue with the mobile operator as I have severall people around me using the same one with a different 4G modem and getting 100% stable connectivity. It is a real pain as I use this as my main Internet access and it makes the hardware frequently unusable.IOS connection problem
I've had my Orbi RBK50 since January. I have had connectivity problems like the rest of you with my IOS iPad and iPhone devices. I have the latest firmware (V1.10.1.2), but the problem keeps getting worse. No!!!, I don't want to use the Orbi as an AP with my old router, I just want it to work like it is supposed to! Netgear has not been of any help. Have they helped you??? Suggestions???Orbi Router dropping Wired connection
Ran my Orbi router over 6 months with no problems. 3 days ago, I could not get any pcs (windows 10)/macs to connect to wired connection. All the wireless connections are rock solid. I tried rebooting pc, rebooting Orbi router, but non of the wired connections would connect. After hours of no connection, all of the wired connects suddenly connected and started to work for about 20 minutes, then back to unable to connect. The error on the pc is "Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration" or "Unidentified Network". But I spent about 8 hours monitoring the connects via the Orbi port and noticed not wired connections for 2 hours or so, followed with about 20 minutes of wired connections. The wireless connections are all working. I have the latest firmware, V1.9.1.12. I haven't change my configuration/devices since the prior months when Obri worked fine. I do see "UPnP set event: add_nat_rule," and "DoS Attack: ARP Attack]" in the log from the "wired" host ip address, but I don't know if that is relevant. I am totally frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.iPad connects but think pads cannot
Using WNDR3700v4 I can connect to Internet with iPad3 but three different think pads connect to NETGEAR96 but there is no internet connection. I have returned to factory settings many times without results. Using Windows 10 on one and win7 on other two. Furthermore I cannot establish a hardware internet connection either.Solved
