With the Orbi router (and previous Netgear routers) I found the only way to activate IPv6 is first use Auto Config. This will then default to 6to 4 Tunnel and give you a Router's IPv6 Address On LAN. Then do Auto Config and you will have IPv6. This may work on other Fiber systems. I also found for my Android phone (Galaxy S25) I needed to Enable RIPng to get IPv6 to work.276Views1like32CommentsORBI R760R with one satellite
I have bought the ORBIRR760R less than 6 months ago to replace another ORbI with wife issues. A week ago it was in and out of the internet. My service provider spent then one hour and more with me in the phone to do a factory reset to check the setting, unplugged the modem, router, satellite. It worked. Yesterday morning Orbi went offline and then it came back with the central unit, but the satellite went off. I reset the satellite, then unplugged everything multiple times, etc with no success. Only the area close to the central has WIFI. It also disconnects from the phone wifi and cuts it out. I read the notes in the community chat to FURRRYe38 etc and followed their steps. This morning I unplugged everything including the cables and restarted the modem the central unit, etc. it worked for a little moment and then the satellite was out again, then the phone went off, and now it is in again, I restarted the modem, the ORBI and write from desktop and the satellite cannot be detected by the ORBI app. What else is there to do? Thx Christophorbi 770 connections issues + strange SSID
Hi everyone, sorry i dont speak well english so i used chat gpt to translate and make the sentence more understandable I recently upgraded from the Orbi 760 to the Orbi 770, and I’m facing some frustrating issues. The 760 worked fine for me (aside from not having the IoT SSID, ¨very frustrating ), but with the 770, I’ve been having a few problems. First, my iPad started asking me to connect to a network that looked very similar to mine. After some digging, I found out that the SSID "NTGRBH" was broadcasting the MAC address, which I’m not comfortable with. Is this normal? I’ve also been having frequent Wi-Fi drops, which seem random, and videos on social app don’t load or buffer for a long time (sometimes depending on the day). These issues didn’t happen with the 760. I’ve reset the router a few times, but the problems persist. The French support team I contacted wasn’t very helpful—they don’t seem aware of this issue, though I found some mentions of it in English online. What can I do to fix this? I’m not very tech-savvy, so I might not fully understand the technical details. Should I just go back to my old Orbi 760? (buy one again) I’m worried it might not get updates anymore, and it doesn’t have the IoT SSID important to me, but at least it worked better for me. Also, I haven’t set up the satellite because I didn’t think it was necessary, but the Wi-Fi signal in my room is weaker, and it cuts out quite often compared to the 760. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Ce message est direct, et explique clairement tes problèmes tout en étant accessible pour d'autres utilisateurs de forums qui pourraient t'aider.
