24 TopicsRS700 pinging Google DND every 4-5 secs on AP Mode
I am currently using my RS700S in AP mode behind a pfSense firewall. I noticed the router is pinging 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 every 4-5 secs showing up in block alerts, more of nuisance than anything with it flooding the logs rather than any connectivity. I assume it's trying to check for an internet connection, but there needs to be a way to block/stop the RS700S when in AP mode. I assume this is not just the RS700 but other models probably doing the same as a lot of them share similar core firmware.600Views0likes10CommentsRS600 Setup Problems
Hi, I am trying to set up a new Nighthawk RS600 but cannot seem to connect to the internet with it. I have a TPG HFC connection. I'm moving from an Netgear Orbi so I would think it should work. I contacted TPG and they couldn't solve my problem. I assume there is a setting I need change but just can't work it out, having already spent half a day on it. ThanksSolved401Views0likes6CommentsRS600 new firmware issues 1.0.5.22
Downloaded and installed latest FW release 1.0.5.22, and now experiencing issues with internet dropping out for about 30 seconds every 10-15 minutes. This was most prevalent on the ethernet side, but noticed it happens as well on the wireless side simultaneously. Anyone experiencing this? Had to revert back to previous firmware in order to correct the problem. Nothing else was changed.400Views0likes13CommentsRS600 BE17000 vs BE18000
I'm struggling to understand what version of the RS600 is out there for the US. All I can see on my RS600 is "RS600". Nothing stating what the BE version is, and the firmware has no reference to anything other than RS600 as well. Online I see just the BE18000 version posted. If I download the User Manual, it's a RS600 BE17000 manual updated in July of 2025. This manual does not contain any reference to the QoS page of the firmware (Home/Quality of Service). This feature is either something that's never been documented or is a feature of the current firmware, V1.05.22. Is there a User Manual supporting the current version???399Views0likes10CommentsWhen I have all devices dropping off the internet this is a major problem
I am experiencing the same issue for the past few weeks. This is a router/firmware issue that Netgear needs to resolved urgently. When I have all devices dropping off the internet this is a major problem. I did not experience this on the previous version or any previous router. Happy for Netgear to supply me an alternative router that works.300Views0likes12CommentsAllow way to disable 6hz or implement MLO
I own the RS 600 and it is completely unusable in my basement office. My phone always connects to the 6hz network. It shows a strong connection, but my teams calls always end up dropping. Yes, I could break each frequency into its own network, but that defeats the value proposition of the entire router. Just give us a way to disable 6hz or implement MLO.... Please!!!Solved300Views0likes7CommentsNOTICE - NEW RS Series model Firmware Updates Released (10-2025)
Please review and find new information about new FW for the RS series of routers here: Nighthawk Firmware Releases | NETGEAR Communities Not all models have updates so please review all models prior to updating FW. Thank you.299Views0likes0CommentsFYI, uPNP Port forwarding has Nat Loopback issues with DDNS... Use manual entering of ports instead
To anyone trying to access devices on your network via DDNS... Using uPNP for automatic port forwarding is resulting in DDNS failure behind the router, although devices can be connected outside the network. For instance, I have a Synology server, set up on my network, using xxx.synology.me:9999 as the ddns / port for accessing the server. Using upnp to set up ports, I could never access the server from inside the network, but it works fine accessing it outside the network. The way to resolve this, is to manually set up the port forwarding on the Netgear router. This has resulted in proper NAT loopback, allowing me to access xxx.synology.me:9999 from inside the network as well as from outside the network.219Views0likes16CommentsRS600 dropping connection, rebooting randomly...
I've had this RS 600 and it's been terrible. Very inconsistent wifi speeds, I tried manually changing channels, and the 5g line kept dropping out. Then today, the entire router crashed and was down for 5 minutes during a critical internet call. I'm on an experimental firmware 1.0.5.113 I spent a LOT on this router to get something reliable... and so far, this is not being that.200Views1like11Comments
