Look for .opr file for GSM7252PS

Hello

I have a GSM7252PS that will not operate past the Boot menu status.

The power light is amber (versus green)

I connected via the console port to verify the situation.

It appears I need a .opr file, that is different from the firmware image.  I searched the Netgear website and cannot find an image.

I did see a link to gsm73xxs-6.2.0.6.opr.  I am reluctant to load the .opr for a different model.

Any suggestions on where I can download   .opr image for the 72XX series of devices?

Thanks

Merv

  • Hi mervyn28

    Welcome to the community! :)

I inquired your concern higher tier of NETGEAR Support.  As per the higher tier of NETGEAR Support, the .stk file can be use to recover the GSM7252PS switch.  There is no need for getting the .opr image.

The latest firmware for the GSM7252PS switch is v10.0.0.53 (.stk file).  You can download it on this link

Thank you very much for the help and support,  I tried to load the firmware, however, had no success.

I could not use the browser-based solution as the 7252 cannot get past the boot menu and has no IP assigned.

I tried using different TTY clients.  I could only get Termite to work.  Putty did not.

I tried loading both the firmware and older .opr that I found, via usb neither worked.  "Unable to read file" error.

I have concluded that the device is not repairable and no longer usable.

Thank you for your help.  I was very much appreciated.
