Nighthawk 5G M7 (MH7110) Not recognised by NETGEAR app
I am trying to add my Nighthawk 5G M7 (MH7110) to the NETGEAR app. When I scan the barcode it says “This device is not supported by this app” the router is working and I can connect devices to it but I need to use the app to change the sim….....
Hi,
Not sure if you guys have seen the latest iOS release 1.3.1.58 from the Apple App store. Android is 1.3.1.1072.
Hope this helps.

I’ve seen similar compatibility issues where a device works normally but isn’t recognized by the companion app. Since the M7 is connecting properly, the main issue seems to be app support rather than the router itself. It would be worth checking whether the latest NETGEAR app version officially supports the MH7110 and whether there is an alternative way to change the SIM settings through the router’s web interface.

NETGEAR support said it was the app and said to use the web interface workaround but did not say when the app would be updated….

Hi, Did you manage to get your issue resolved? If so, could you let me know how, as I’m experiencing the same problem.
I believe the issue was caused by an app update though so untill they release an updated version I fear the device will be unusable.
I originally connected through the app and successfully installed an eSIM. However, after a couple of weeks, the device started showing as offline in the app, even though I was connected and actively using the Wi-Fi. After trying numerous troubleshooting steps without success, I contacted Netgear Support. They advised me to perform a factory reset, which I did. Unfortunately, this removed the eSIM, and I now no longer have Wi-Fi access because I’m unable to reinstall the eSIM and after reporting this they have not responded after 5 days.
Any advice or information on how you resolved the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Just to confirm, did you guys started facing the issue on Netgear app after latest app update on or even before that?
- WakeyrichAspirant
Hi, I believe it is the latest update that caused the issue, I only purchased the device approx 4 weeks ago and I connected and set it up via the app without any issues then it stopped being recognised by the app about 2 weeks ago

I have an M7 pro with the same issue. I can only set it up via the LCD and not within the NETGEAR app so am also not able to utilise the NETGEAR eSIM capability.

Hi. It seems the latest update has issue app connecting to MH7110 model. The upcoming app update will be able to resolve the issue. Meanwhile you can use the web interface for the device as work around

Which is it, the device you have? Although router mobile devices appearance looks similar but they are different!
- MH7110 <- NANO SIM only!
- MH7150 <- only this device has (NANO SIM) & eSIM support!

@ BRO3,
Which version of mobile phone are you using, iphone or Android device ? Your suppose to install the (Netgear App) on your phone ONLY!
Wakeyrich,Just to be clear, the above mobile router (MH7110) portable device doesn't come, or have the built-in unique chip eSIM support. The only one that has eSIM support is the mobile router (MH7150) portable!

What app version do you guys have?
It is not the Netgear nighthawk app. Its the straight netgear app that is the white icon with blue N on it.
I've got that same hotspot and it connects to my app fine. version 1.4.0.1092

Hi,
I just downloaded the Netgear App not the Netgear nighthawk app. The latest version is v1.3.1.1072 and on Apple app Store is how's as v1.3.0
What device you are using apple or android?
Where did you download or update the from ?
- BR03Tutor
iPhone and NETGEAR app download from a link sent by NETGEAR support that leads to Apple App Store which is v1.3.0…..where do you get the v1.3.1 version.....?
- BR03Tutor
Where did you get that version from..... I have the NETGEAR only app but can only find v1.3.0
- FortraLuminary
@ BRO3, You're correct the version that is available on the OS Apple store is v1.3.0 !
As for Android users you'll have get yours from the Google Play store it doesn't say, what the version is !
To simplify things so you know what to look out for when you went to the download store for the Netgear app. I have included a picture below!
