Please review and let us know if you are able to set up SPC features...
Hopefully this is the right place to reply.
I have installed this version now and the DNS issues seem to be gone, the issue I am seeing now is when streaming video from my server (windows 10 from a SMB share to kodi) I am seeing random freezes and hangs in playback while the cache fills up again from time to time, and kodi reporting that the connection is too slow.
(I was not experiencing this issue with the stock firmware)
Wireless seems ok, and I havent had any issues with internet streaming services yet, ie netflix and amazon seem ok.
The RBS750 satellites are hard wired to the RBR750 router, and all other wireless devices connected to them seem fine so far.
I do have other ethernet devices connected to them, so I will do some more testing tomorrow.
Initially thoughts are positive as the DNS issues appear to have gone and browsing speed seems snapier so far.
I will report back once I have clarified a few more things and perhaps run a wireshark to see if i can find out where the slowdown/latency is occuring.
Keep us posted...
- Mastra11ApprenticeHi, so is everything working fine and stable? list of connected devices all ok? how did you update the firmware? Is this firmware also available directly from the router or only from the site and must be installed manually? thank you very much.
Thanks for letting us know and the orbi app screen shot. Glad SPC is finally making in to Orbi AX.
Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Updated my RBK752 this morning, been running great all day. Removed the static dns entries from my win10 box and haven't seen any dns issues yet. The parental controls are in the orbi app. So far looks like a well thought out setup.
Unfortunately performing an upgrade of this fw created a lot of issues.
Any tips for restoring/downgrading RBR750 & 2x RBS750?
Upgraded to the latest FW and encountered all sorts of issues - worst was the internet speed was nearly half of what it was before the upgrade (approx. 950 Mbps d/l & u/l to approx. 520 Mbps d/l on 1 Gbps fiber).
Tried to follow all the steps:
- created a backup file
- manually upgraded router and satellites from 3.2 to 4.6 (latest release)
- tried to restore backup (says file is not valid)
- tried to upload previous fw
-- fails on router: no "Yes"-button when trying to proceed, only a "No"-button...
-- 1 satellite never showing up again
- tried to factory reset several times and set up as new
Any pointers in a direction where I can find some answers to start fresh would be helpful!
Thanks!
After loading FW, I would have done a factory reset on the RBR and RBS if I saw problems. (A full power OFF of the System and ISPM modem/ONT should work first thing.) Also you would need to power OFF the ISP modem/ONT for 30 seconds then back ON as well during the reset of the RBR. I would have set up the RBR using a wired PC and web browser. Do not load a prior saved config from file. New FW features seein in this version may not be compatible with older config files.
Don't enable Armor or SPC. Run a quick speed test with the wired PC to see if speeds were to spec....
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

FURRYe38 Thanks for the pointers - I'll give it another shot!
The modem mfr & model# is Zyxel Gigabit Active Fiber SFU AM3100-B0.
The new firmware is a complete bust for me. Wireless throughput dropped to 20Mbit/sec from over 400Mbit/sec with an iPhone SE only 10 feet from the router. Even worse, I cannot manually retreat the firmware for the RBK750 because it prompts to ask if I really want to install older firmware but gives *NO* option to continue with the operation - only a visible cancel button to abort the update. I can retreat the satellite with no problem.
Ater you installed this version of FW, did you continue to use the system with or with out a reboot, power cycle or factory reset and setup from scratch?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

I had a very stable, high-throughput configuration with firmware version 3.2.18 with an RBR750 and RBS750; Xfinity Gigabit internet through a MB8600 modem. After updating to the new firmware, wireless speeds are basically gone. While this is concerning, the biggest immediate issue is the disappearance of the ability to retreat the firmware for the router. As I mentioned, you only have the ability to cancel the firmware update now. It will not let me proceed to downgrade the router firmware even though I can downgrade the satellite. This seems like a huge bug.

Hello Community,
The downgrade from FW v4.6.3.7 back to 3.2.18.1 is not supported. Therefore you will notice that there isn't an option to click "Yes". May you try performing a factory reset if you are attempting to revert back a firmware version and send me a private message if your issue persists.
Thanks,Christian
Christian_R I've sent you a private message, but haven't heard back from you.

I watch these threads and therefore I am a laggard when it comes to updating. Currently, not experiencing connectivity or performance issues so I avoid the arrowsinthe butt and wait.
BTW, does anyone really have performance functionality issues when reported D/L drops by 2-300mbps? I can only get 100 MBs service here and can run 2 4K video streams and a couple of audio streams while my Linux server is backing up 150g to a local Linux server.
The Orbi is outperforming the Nighthawk it replaced.
The reality is the internal speed test error is going to make a lot of people think the update is broken when only the speed test itself is broken. Because wireless speeds vary so much and are often significantly lower than router/modem capabiity and wired speeds are often limited by 1 Gigabit Ethernet hardware, people like me use the internal speed test to make sure I am getting the Gigabit throughput that I am paying Xfinity for. 1200+Mbs is available to a significant number of Xfinity customers if you have a LAG-capable cable modem. I routinely speed test to 1350+ Mbs (Xfinity provisions 1200Mbs service at 1400Mbs). When you have to update dozens of devices every time Apple pushes a SW release, you really do notice the difference. Right now, the internal speed test doesn't get much past 600+Mbs. Like others on this forum, that result sent me down a rabbit hole chasing a problem that really didn't exist at the endpoints, which is where the speed counts.
User will need to verify speeds using external speed test apps like Ooklas installable speed test app to verify there speeds are good. Most have already mentioned this and that the internal speed test app differs. As long as the external apps show to spec speeds, you'll be ok.
- Don’t know anyone having the same problem with me, I am having problem with the connection between the router and satellite after updated to the latest firmware, it keep changing the connection type of the backhaul from 5ghz to wired and back to 5ghz but I never connect them by Ethernet. And all my devices the connected to the satellite will drop connection when the backhaul connection keep changing. I am not sure when my Orbi got updated, I just notice it when the problem start showing. Seen we can’t downgrade the firmware now, so I can’t confirm it cause by the firmware or not……
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and Orbi system been performed since last update?

Netgear support has just told me that the internal speed test was finally fine.
It's just the displayed download bandwidth value that is wrong on Orbi App & Orbi website.
- Ksw812679AspirantHello.
Before the upgrade I used the another LAN ID with Subnet on my network for example: 197.128.1.1/ 255.255.255.0. It was ok for me to remote access from Orbi App.
But, after upgraded the Firmware 4.6.3.7. My mobile and tablet were unable to access anymore except using the Default LAN ID and Subnet: (192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0)
I tried to change my Lan ID Address and Subnet Mask but the result was fruitless.
Any suggestion on this. Thanks. I have an RBR750 with one RBS750 attached.
Was connected to cable modem by Ethernet and running in AP mode. All working great.
Recently was prompted to update firmware by orbi app. Now Wi-Fi completely unstable in AP mode - allowing connection for seconds at a time. Works ok in router mode but blocks internal traffic to server attached to cable modem. Completely useless since firmware update last week. I have tried rolling back the firmware - can do so on Satellite but blocked on router.
Major bug in new firmware. Any suggestions?Factory reset and setup from scratch with same version on both RBR and RBS.

Major bug in new firmware. Any suggestions?Hi FURRYe38
Thanks for the response.
I have factory reset twice - and set up.
Both router and satellite on the same firmware (4.6.3.7).Problem comes when I change from Router to AP mode (as it was before the firmware upgrade).
The wifi connects devices for about 30 seconds and then drops - and network disappears from available networks on phone, tablet and laptops.
becomes totally unresponsive.
- RBR750 and this new update has reduced my speeds form 900MBPS to 600MBPS, and capped the RBS750 Ethernet connected devices with CAT 6 cables to 95MBPS.
What’s the deal?!?!
Fix this.- Gatorade2000ApprenticeDeal is **bleep**ty engineers. Buy their platinum plan.
Having lots of trouble with this firmware update.
The connection to my satellite has gone from rock solid, to regularly disconnecting. One of the satellites regularly goes to a pulsating white light followed by a solid blue light - I assume this means it is losing and re-establishing connecting to the main router.
Never had this problem on any of the old firmwares, just since this one auto updated. I have performed a full factory reset, but the issue continues.
Welcome thoughts and ideas!
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
Yes, I have factory reset all units. I did use the restore settings when i did this... I assume your advice will be to not do this :-)
Same here. For months i have used the system without any issues (Router and 3 sattelites, 1 wired, 2 wireless in daisychain). After the 4.6.3.7 fw update the whole system is unstable. Wired everything is fine but wireless there are disconnects trhroughout the day. Also devices will not automatically reconnect to the orbi wifi. I don't feel like resetting everything, i just hope a fw update will be available soon...

The solution to all of these problems could be so easy if Netgear did not avoid downgrading firmware !
There firmwares are plenty of bugs and not well tested before release.
We will maybe have to face many other issues with some of upcomings firmwares.
Why are they blocking downgrades so that we can downgrade to a more stable firmware in cas of issue with latest release ???
We are not talking about low cost hardware so we might have the right to choose which firmwareversion to use.
I really don't understand why they are doing this.
But for sure I don't think I will buy Netgear again.
I fully agree, invested nearly 1k in this equipment. it will make it harder to reccomend this to friends and families for sure.
