- remsreefGuideMy Orbi RBR750 and RBS750 have been stable and fast with the 4.6.3.7.. here are my settings:
1. Wireless Setup - Enable AX checked
2. LAN setup - I changed my router’s IP address to 192.168.1.100
3. LAN setup - DHCP range from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254
4. Advanced - Wireless Settings - unchecked “20/40 mhz coexistence”
- Enable WMM for 2.4 and 5ghz both checked
- CTS/RTS threshold to 2347 for both 2.4 and 5g
- Transmit power for 2.4g to 25% and 5g to 100%
That’s pretty much it. I did change the SSID to “test” so nothing could connect to the router and satellite while I was setting everything up. Everything else was on default. After everything was setup, I rebooted the router and satellite, then changed the SSID back to the old name so all the wireless devices could connect. Everything has been rock solid for me, no disconnects and the speeds are fast. Good luck!- Gatorade2000Apprentice@remreef, what bandwidth do you have? and what speed are you getting?

Thanks for letting us know about this and what you configured.
Keep an eye on this for next few days and let us know how the system works. Hoping this will bring stability to your system.
Curious about changing the router IP to .100. I presume this maybe something you normally do or was this a trobleshooting idea? I normally use .0.1 for the router and .100 to .150 for DHCP IP address pool since I don't have more than 40 devices anyways.

Spent 1.5 hours on the phone with NG support collecting screenshots and debug logs for the router and 2 satellites.
Background, my network was stable for 9 days since disabling AX mode on both bands. I filed a case because I bought an AX capable mesh and can easily revert to my Tri-band Nighthawk which worked fine but had NO AX capability. Why should I pay for AX if I can't use it? I filed several other issues but this was the most significant.
I proved that once AX mode is enabled, it became impossible for IoT devices to connect to either satellite. Before enabling AX mode, there were 8 devices connected to one satellite and 9 connected to the second satellite. After enabling AX mode, one satellite had 0 connected devices and the other had 3 (which were 1 PC and 2 tablets which could be re-logged in manually). The IoT devices which all depend on apps to get connected were only able to connect to the router (some could connect but too far to have usable bandwidth without a working satellite others are gone completely and the apps saw no Orbi network to connect to. I was able to reattach the IoT devices after once again disabling the AX mode.
I was promised that this would be escalated but let's see. My 90 day "support" expires in 2 days. 😀- raven_auVirtuoso

I observed similar behaviours but didn't go into as much detail as you have done.
There is definitely a fairly frequent wireless disconnect problem which I have seen happening.
The point of this post is, since Netgear will think this is an isolated problem to your system, and probably have not groked it's widespread, which it is, they need to be convinced of that.

"I was promised that this would be escalated but let's see"
:smileymad:
It's a JOKE !!!!!!!!!
It would mean that this issue is still only managed by level 1 support and that higher level supports as well as development project teams that updated the firmware are still not aware !!!!!
Such a bug impacting so many people since 1 month now and the issue is still not escalated at the higher Netgear support level !!!!!???????
I can't believe this is possible ...
What are they waiting for to escalate while so many people are having there expensive orbi system useless since 1 month ?
This is unacepptable from Netgear that meanwhile they are troubleshooting they don't provide an official procedure to restore the service by providing a new update or allowing rolling-back to previous working firmware version.
It would take only a few minutes of their time to do it but they prefer impacting all orbi customers for 1 month !
Maybe we will have the chance to have the next firmware fix delivered for Xmas !
Netgear delivery & incident management processes really needs to be reviewed !

I recently bought this new WIFI 6 Mesh system from costco and in couple of days the FW version got updated to new version 4.x .Since then the speed for download speeds dropped significently and in mid 500 Mbps where as the upload speeds have consistent at 930 Mbps .
When I did the speed test before the FW upgrade I was getting fantastic speeds at 900's (before Netgear automatically updated next - dah!)
I have a Verizon Fios gigabit internet and I was able to verify the speeds directly from VZ modem and speeds were in 900 mbps for both download & upload speeds.
Configuration: Verizon fios model --> Orbi RBR750 router --> 2 Orbi RBS750 Satellites.
Since the update the download speeds are in mid 500 mbps ,strange enough the upload speeds were consistenly in 930 mbps . I have tried factory restore option to atleast get the old firmware where I was able to see faster download speeds but unfortonately that was short lived since netgear automatically updated the firware to ver 4.x and facing the slowness again.I contacted netgear support and they spend hours doing the same steps I did to reset and do bunch of conf updates which were useless .It feels like they are shooting darts in dark and have no clue what the root cause is and wasting time.
Funny thing is they had the ticket open and after a week they did not even contact me/fix the issue and closed the ticket -- > This product was purchased and it's not even a month and they have shown the true "customer support" service.
Bad quality controls and despite the consumer complaints , there is no response from netgear.
Hope this helps others before buying the netgear products

How were you testing speeds? Orbi app or RBR built in speed test?

- Gatorade2000ApprenticeFurry, why the question. This is known fact that max speed by app or built in speed test(routerlogin/orbilogin) reduces to 600s
- kinghenrymAspirant
I got the same problem as you. But my download speed always cap at 630mb and upload speed cap at 920mb. It just cap!!! Cannot go higher after the update.
- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Where are you speed testing from? Orbi app or RBRs built in speed test app? IF so, then these are giving inaccurate speed results. Use a wired PC and Ooklas installable speed test app on this pc to test and compare results.

I have been using a Cisco 2 line ATA voip device with Voicepulse without problems for many years. With this new bios, the ATA will only register and connect if it is in the DMZ. Once registered, if moved out of the DMZ, it can call out, but won't receive calls.
The "Disable SIP ALG" box is checked.
Is anyone else having an issue with voip on this new Orbi RBR750 bios?
- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
"The "Disable SIP ALG" box is checked" something you changed or has then been always like this? What happens if you take the check mark out and apply the change for this feature with the VoIP device no in the DMZ?
You can leave the VoIP device in the DMZ, won't be a risk. Something I've done before.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last firmware update?

Thank you for the quick response. The "Disable SIP ALG" was always checked (unless I was checking alternatives).
I just rebooted the voip ATA after switching it out of the DMZ. And after a week of tech support emails and changing firmware and configurations on the ATA. They got it working in DMZ, then it couldn't receive calls when switch out of the DMZ. I just rebooted the ATA, and that seems to have fixed everything, at last.
If problems return, the ATA will go back in the DMZ.
So for now, I am treating this problem as solved......
Hi
I have the RBK 752 set up at home. the current firmware is V4.6.3.7.
I am facing the following issues
Devices are getting disconnected from the satellite unit
Devices on the satellite unit get message no wifi
When trying to reconnect the devices option as Orbi guest is shown but my guest option is off
The satellite seems to be getting disconnected from the main unit often since i see it booting again and frequently see the light flashing
thanks
- Gatorade2000Apprenticetry burning the unit.
- Timothy88Luminary
Ok what am I missing? I tried adding the keywords to block the auto update and the satellite went back to V4. Also in safari how do you enable the YES button so you can donwgrade?
- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Has a factory reset, then power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and Orbi system, then walk thru the setup wizard been performed since last update?

ALL USERS of the 7 series Orbi AX system, please contact NG support by opening a support ticket and contact NG and ask them for the beta that seems to be avialable for the 7 series that seems to be directed to fixed what everyone with a 7 series has been having problems with:
https://www.netgear.com/support/#
For user out of warranty, contact Blanca_O and DarrenM and send them a PM and ask for the beta.
Good Luck.
- AggedwNGApprenticeIs there at least a set of release notes with this beta? Seems to only address wifi issues from what I'm reading but nothing about addressing the issue with downloads over ethernet hosing up the router.. What's worse is support is zero help nor do they know Jack about any beta fw mentioned above..
- Struggling with reaching support and requesting the beta firmware update. Any chance on sharing the link here so we can test it out?
- Same here. I’ve had my orbi for just over a year and have the protection plan on it. I thought that extended the support window. Guess that’s the last time I do that.
- maven99Initiate
I see you posting this all over, to contact support, but maybe you should contact support to let them know a Beta is available becuase I just did and they don't know about the beta and don't have access to it. Just spent 30 minutes with them and they have no clue.
So people, don't contact support, they don't know about the beta and it will just result in a waste of your time.

Question for claification ... I am a FIOS user on 1GB plan and I currently have been using my Orbi in router mode recieving great speeds over wifi and with throughput over ethernet. Just like everyone else once this new FW 4.6.3.7 Released my overall speed have take a massive dump. Wifi AVG 90 up /75 down and Ethernet is showing about the same. However. when I use an old FIOS gateway incoming speed is still showing 940 down /900 up coming into the house. My question is anyone using their Orbi in AP mode instead of router mode using my old FIOS gateway still having these wifi speeds issue. WFH need help.
- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Are you speed testing using the RBRs build in speed test app or Orbi app or are you speed texting using external speed test apps like Ooklas installable speed test app on a PC or device?

Both. Using speedtest installed App on machine and using fast.com to test speeds coming from the Orbi.
- titaniumrx8ApprenticeMy case with support has been open for almost 2 weeks now. They've had time to review all the screen shots and debug logs I've sent them but no response since 8/30 when they said that they were working on it. Seems that my subsequent requests for a status updates are being ignored because my 90 day support expired.
I was OK with waiting because I had everything working well enough but still wanted to get the issues resolved so I had access to all the capabilities I paid for. That was ok until yesterday when the satellite serving the hungriest streaming devices at the far end of my house were no longer connecting to their closest satellite and were therefore experiencing frequent buffering and disconnects. Despite factory resetting everything, nothing will connect to the one satellite. I can log into the satellite and it's backhaul shows good, it's no longer working.
That's the last straw. It's going back to Costco and I'm reverting to my old Nighthawk and range extenders. Wow, if you are past 90 days of purchase, good luck getting netgear support to listen to your issue. I opened case 45079455 with netgear and all the agent would tell me is that I'm out of the 90 day support warranty. Netgear support is the worst. I'm ordering a Linksys Velop from Costco and taking this junk back to Costco. Netgear lost a customer for life in me based on today's experience.
Is anybody from netgear here listening? This issue is beyond ridiculous for how long it has gone on, and the lack of the issue being acknowledged by Netgear is appalling!
I just reached out to BlancaO. Hopefully she will be able to get me some assistance and the beta firmware.
I would not get too excited about the Beta. I have been running it for a few days now, and the satellite stability issue is no better for me - if anything it seems worse.
Bummer. Guess back to Costco mine go. Wonder how many returns Costco is getting of these?
MaleHumanUK wrote:I would not get too excited about the Beta. I have been running it for a few days now, and the satellite stability issue is no better for me - if anything it seems worse.
- Did you do a full reset? I did a full reset and the beta has been great. Think the speeds for each device has been better than when I first purchased this set up. I have 2 satellites and they hand off devices much better now.
- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Yes, ensure you have done a full factory reset on the RBR and RBS. After setting up the RBR and RBS again. Power OFF the RBR and RBS and ISP modem/ONT for 5 minutes then back ON with the ISP modem/ONT first then RBR then RBS.
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
