Ethernet 1 connecting at 100Mbit only.
After a power cycle on a PRO Business eth0 will only connect at 100Mbit. Swapped cables, inspected and cleaned socket but no go.
The NAS is connected to a GS108T switch.
Log for eth0 after a reconnection shows this:
Would the "2 pair Downshift" be a configurable parameter? If so, how to reset to 1000Mbit?
Thanks in advance.

Yes I have ...Case #14582370 then level 2 with Case#14603314.
See my post above with the latest response.
Cheers.- orGSD1AspirantHave you tried disabling Jumbo Frames?
I just ran into this issue and trying to figure out why one of the RDNP's was coming up as Gigabit, and the other not, I noticed that the one with 100Mb had Jumbo Frames enabled.
Disabling Jumbo Frames and rebooting brought it back to 1Gbit.
I realize this is almost too simple to solve your problem, as it did mine, and have not yet really investigated why this was the case but I thought I would at least share how it solved my issue, I found your thread while searching for solutions.
Best of luck!
Cheers,
orGSD - Thanks for the tip orGSD. I have jumbo frames already disabled but just in case I tried enabling/disabling but no go.
Netgear has issued a RMA for a swap. Waiting for the courier to collect.
Cheers. - orGSD1AspirantWell, unfortunately, I am in the same boat.
Upon first "connection" it is 1Gbit, but then it falls back to 100Mb after an unknown period of time. I will dig into this further and try replacing every item in the picture, but I now know the jumbo frames was a red herring. It was just that since it went back to 1Gbit upon first connecting after the reboot I thought it was fixed. I noticed that it went back to 100Mbit. Telling it to renew the static DHCP lease brought it back up at 1Gbit. Undoubtedly it will be back at 100Mbit later.
Sorry for the false hope!
Cheers,
orGSD - @orGSD - Can you not get a RMA?
A "swap" has been authorized in my case. Does Netgear swap for new or refurbished units? I have taken VERY good care of the NAS in it's 2 years of trusty service to me. I would hate to now receive an "abused" refurbished NAS that will give me more problems in the long run, ie, when the warranty expires :? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredNetGear would send a refurbished unit. The unit should be in a fully working condition and may show a few signs of use. They won't just send out any unit.
- orGSD1Aspirant@Fishbones - I have not yet contacted Netgear on the issue. I have had the machine down for some time as a result of a move and although noticed the switch indicating 100Mb prior to the move for that port, had not investigated thinking it was a problem lying elsewhere. Now that I have two RDNP side by side I can see that the problem is indeed the RDNP. I will be contacting Netgear on the issue shortly.
As for refurbished I do share your same concerns. I feel it rather "lame" for a company to replace a product that is defective with one that is not new. If the RMA was due to some fault on the customer end, a refurbished unit would align more with expectations. It seems almost a punishment for having done nothing wrong to receive a refurbished item when the reason for the replacement is on the companies end. If I want refurbished, I buy refurbished, if I want new, I buy new. It seems only fair for the customer to have control over that.
All that being said, I understand the financial reasons for companies handling things this way. Profits are desirable.

orGSD - Simple fix after all  Like 70% of all electronic equipment faults -- Bad contact or broken wire --
 Solution:
The 2x ethernet ports, 2x usb and com1 ports are on a separate board (IO Board). This board is connected to the main board via an extension printed circuit board.
Remove the IO Board (3 screws) and extension board.
Use a little contact cleaner (non greasy) on the connectors on the main board and IO Board. A re-seating of the the little extension board would probably have solved it too.
It's now been working for 24hr and tested with reboot, power cycle, different switch port, jumbo frames on/off, teaming on/off and all OK.
Will leave on test for another 24hr before I cancel the RMA.
Cheers.
- orGSD1Aspirant@Fishbones: Thank you for the short guide. I am in the process of trying it right now but had a quick question. I do not see the purpose of the included photo as it does not seem aligned with what the instructions suggest. It seems to have two fan headers circled only. Am I missing part of your recommendation?
Of minor interest, I see that my CPU fan has 4 wires as opposed to your 3.
Thanks four the help!
Cheers,
orGSD
