Ethernet 1 connecting at 100Mbit only.
After a power cycle on a PRO Business eth0 will only connect at 100Mbit. Swapped cables, inspected and cleaned socket but no go.
The NAS is connected to a GS108T switch.
Log for eth0 after a reconnection shows this:
Would the "2 pair Downshift" be a configurable parameter? If so, how to reset to 1000Mbit?
Thanks in advance.

- PapaBear1ApprenticeA couple of things I would try:
1) Try connecting to the other port first.
If that did not work,
2) Test with a direct connection to a PC that has a gigabit ethernet port and see what the connection speed is. PapaBear wrote: A couple of things I would try:

Thanks PapaBear. Tried other ports on switch and another Gigabit switch too. Still connecting at 100Mbit :(- PapaBear1ApprenticeI actually meant the other port on the Pro.

Failed to mention that i'm using both ports already... teaming.
eth1 will come up immediately at 1Gbit. eth0 will take about 10 seconds then come up at 100Mbit.
I have done a firmware re-install and also tried single port without teaming ... same problem. I'm beginning to suspect problems with the eth0 NIC.
Cheers.- PapaBear1ApprenticeThat would be my conclusion.
For a final verification you might want to try eth0 by itself, using the same cable and switch port that is currently connected to eth1. - Opened an online support ticket. It has now been escalated to level 2 and I'm sure it will be solved as it seems that the "Lord" is now on the case.
Dear Customer
We found the case of the Lord for our level 2 and asked to follow certain procedures to verify
a. Connect with only 1 network card and verify speed.
b. Using the same cable and same mouth network in the switch, connect only
2 network card and verify the speed.
c. Repeat steps "a" and "b" on one face of the switch network.
d. Repeat steps "a", "b" and "c" by using another network cable
e. Directly connect to a PC that has Gbit NIC (Indicate brand model of network card) with both ports of the NAS (the first one and then the other). Check the speed.
Support Netgear - ahpsi1TutorInteresting the message appears to only involve the Yukon chipped NIC's. The 'downshift' can be 4 or two pair and at first blush would suggest a bad cable but you have already swapped that out. Only solution I found elsewhere was to install new NIC's :/

Are the NIC's in the Pro replaceable? I was under the impression that they are part of the motherboard.- alexofindyAspirantI had this problem and it was the cable; 1 GB is much fussier about cables than 100 MB. Though you say swapping cables was one of your first moves, be sure you're not swapping a bad cable for a bad cable, and that you're using a cable you know works at 1 GB.

Same cable on Ethernet Port 2 comes up at 1Gbit. I've tested 4 cables including cat6.
Now testing with a Trend Unipro GbE network tester and get same results.
