are you guys still trying to find a fix for lan ports dropping with instant on being turned on for consoles? or is that just a thing in the past?
- Mr_smileAspirantHi. Im still trying to fix the problem that i lose connection on lan 1. Sometimes it comes back and working. For the moment its dead.

If you haven't yet, open a support ticket here:
https://www.netgear.com/mynetgear/registration/login.aspx
Ask about an RMA.
In mean time, if you need more ports, add on a external GB switch, i.e. NG GS305/308 series.Have you manually reloaded FW and then factory reset the router and setup from scratch?
What devices do you connect to LAN 1?

MR_smile that does sound like a hardware issue. I would call netgear customer support and if it still has warrenty they will send you a new one. Ive recieved three of these routers so far.. due to them thinking my issue to the lan ports all not working from instant on being turned on. which isnt the case it is something in the routers firmware causing my issue but seems they will never fix the problem.. in my case
I am also having this issue, It's happened twice in the last week
currently only one of my LAN devices is showing as connected, even though it connects to the nighthawk via a cisco 2960, the 2960 is not showing, neither are the other machines connected via the cisco (all the machines have DHCP reserved addresses). My Xbox One S, connected directly to the nighthawk is also not getting a connection (i have rebooted both the Xbox and the router, but no luck)
Could i have a copy of the firmware that has been sent to some users? I'm currently running V2.3.2.40
Regards
Paul

Hi Paul - that's the latest firware (as far as I am aware). Might be worth trying a factory reset to see if that clears the issue. https://kb.netgear.com/000053098/How-do-I-perform-a-factory-reset-on-my-Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-router

This seems to be a on-going problem, ive had this router for 2 weeks. Never had any problems with negear before, always recommend to my customers to purchase these. It looks like netgear isnt doing anything special to resolve this issue. My firmware is up to date. i have been resetting this on a day to day and sometimes 2x a day basis. Which is Ridiculous for a 300$ router. This post started 8 months ago.. thats a pretty long wait to have this issue resolved. Calling in doesnt see to get me anywhere, Try this and that and blah.. Its clearly not a hardware issue, it is definately a software problem. Please come up with a fix.

Just spent almost 1 and a half, trying to talk to someone... I keep get moved from department to department. Clearly no one knows what is actually going on with this. I guess its time to send it back. Never thought i would have been let down so much by netgear. Back to cisco it is.
- ep2015ApprenticeThis is still ongoing and it has caused some extreme frustration as my connected devices are critical (home security, voip, home server, etc.).
Why has this been taking so long to fix?- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerThis has been a hard issue to reproduce in the lab and is being investigated by multiple teams, not just Netgear. They are taking it seriously and will hopefully have a firmware soon to resolve it. To remind you, some of the known workarounds that work are turning off consoles completely (not leaving in rest/instant on modes) and putting a switch between the router and your wired devices.

i have tried to turn my devices off. that did not make any differnce. Is there any info you can recieve from the community to try and help narrow it down.. this happens to me every single day. i also have a 48 port unmannaged netgear switch between all my wired devices, still has not made a differnce. Is there any other current work arounds ?

Does anyone know if i can turn instant on back on for my xbox one X without having to worry about it loosing connection? or does my router still suck?

Instant ON is a MS issue, not NG.
ah i was just replying with my firmware etc, didn't realise your reply was to someone else (i just read the email update and didn't actually check the thread!)
- Robbbert22AspirantThis only effects the xr500, also my xbox is disconnected. Only thing connected is the computer.... still needs to be rebooted

Try the DCHP Ip address suggestion.

No it is not a microsoft issue you are incorrect. no other router ive ever own has this problem.. and to prove its not a ms issue i reconnected my r7000 and i had instant on mode turned on and never had it disconnect 6 days of using it. reconnected my xr500 and it happened within 1 day the very next morning all lan ports shut off until i restarted the router. that is stupid you would say it a ms issue. plus your telling me netgear routers suck so bad that even if ms was the problem it would shut down all lan ports on the router. come on mcfly give more proof to that bs statement

- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerOther routers do experience the issue, not all of course but someone linked to it in this topic or another on the same matter. That's why there are multiple teams working on it including the Xbox teams. I appreciate that it's frustrating but they're working hard to get it sorted.
- Bojangles239AspirantI’m too having this same issue with my router.
Thanks- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
What FW is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?Have you tried a manual FW update to v32 or v2.1.0.6 using IE11 or FF to load the FW file, the do a factory reset and setup from scratch afterwards to see if the problem continues?
