ReadyNAS Pro: System temp running out of spec
In the last weeks I did have several times where the CPU temp ran out of spec. What's annoying to me is that the cpu fan runs at maximum 1506 rpm?! Shouldn't it rotate much higher to avoid temp running out of spec?
Any idea what to do? A calibration of the cpu fan is not offered within frontview...
Thanks in advance for any hint!

- Any new info on a solution to this problem? I am seeing the same thing with my Pro Pioneer with 4.2.13
- I believe that something has to be done about this. This was never the case with Raidiator 4.2.12.
I am always gettingTemperature sensor 1 reports out of normal range [expected range: 0-65C/32-149F, current: 66.0C/150.8F].
. Yes,
my FAN SYS kicks in immediately and will run at 1328 RPM to lower temperatures.
Any ideas? - ahpsi1TutorHmm, haven't seen an alert yet and don't remember temps/rpm's from before moving to 4.2.13 but here are mine:
Fan SYS 1520 RPM OK
Fan CPU 1394 RPM OK
Temp 1 50 C / 122 F [Normal 0-65 C / 32-149 F] OK
Temp 2 25 C / 77 F [Normal 0-60 C / 32-140 F] OK
System is in a server room where ambient (at the top of the rack) does not exceed 79 F. - muleAspirantIsn't this issue serious enough or why isn't anyone gaving any advice or tells us how this is going to be fixed?
- NilsTOPAspirantHello @all,
yes there seems to be a problem. I have 2 Readynas Pro.
One - the older one - now has temp (CPU) errors and the fan will not go over 1500 rpm.
The newer one works fine ...
Maybe this information helps you to track down the problem.
Nils - damon1Aspirantbump.
still unresolved. - the_evaluatorAspirantbump- me too
- yubyubAspirantI am seeing this issue as well. I'm very interested to see a response from Netgear on this...
- muleAspirantI did post about this issue now in the feedback forum too. No reply yet. Seems that netgear hasn't this issue under control. What worries me is that it may have an impact on the lifetime of our systems.
OT: The first readynas i owned was a NV, the second a DUO and i had never had anykind of reliability issues with theses systems although i tried every beta firmware i could get. The ReadyNAS Pro is in my opinion the most unreliable system i ever owned:
a) Different kind of network issues (MAC hang, eth0: out of ressources)
b) loosing all shares because of wrong configuration files which results in mouting issues (had been repaired by support)
c) temp issues as described here
Luck for me: I'm using the ReadyNAS Pro just for my private needs, but what if all that had happened in a business environment? For sure i would have sold this system as fast as possible and bought a replacement from the competition. Sorry: But in regards of reliability the ReadyNAS Pro is a catastrophy and without receiving any word from netgear regarding the temp issue it's getting even worse from day to day! - NilsTOPAspirantWell, I have a QNAP System too :-) normally I use it as a backup for the Readynas ...
