Does 2.3.x exist? I cannot find it. The instability of the internet connection to the router/WiFi makes this entire system worthless
- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
NG pulled v32 for unknown reasons.
If your having problems with your Orbi system, please make a new post in the main forum and lets see if we can help you figure out the problem.
Hoping NG will re-post the v32 update soon. Please be patient.

Hello All,
Just decided to give a feedback after almost 24 hrs. with v32.
So far had no issues. DL/UL speeds same on all devices.
PS: after upgrading I did factory reset, if that matters.
Will revert if any issues.
Cheers.
- eljarvisoLuminaryThe HomeKit issues I experienced with the last firmware are fixes in this one. If people were having issues where HomeKit devices were not responding when leaving the wifi network I recommend they move to this version as the problem has been fixed.
Throughout seems nice as well (running in AP mode). Wired device on the satellite is pushing about 820Mbps to a NAS connected to my main switch. Wireless laptop connected to satellite is hitting about 550Mbps- cahiattTutor
It really would have been super awesome if they included a link to the intermediate firmware somewhere. Probably right there in the KB article would have been a fantastic choice.
So for anyone looking for the intermediate firmware. Here are the super awesome links that they didn't include anywhere.

Please note that Orbi firmware 2.3.0.32 has been pulled from Netgear Orbi support page due to lack of details in the release notes regarding the update process required to manually update your Orbi units from 2.2.1.210 firmware to 2.3.0.32. The 2.3.0.32 firmware will be restored and made available on the support page once the release notes have been updated to include the appropriate instructions for manually updating your Orbi to 2.3.0.32 firmware.

Hello, Can you point me to where in profile or settings I can update my sig to match yours? - ShotroundApprenticeFactory reset of router via GUI needed in my case. I did not reset the satellites. Router set in Dmz of isp gateway.
I flashed it before going to bed the other day. Through the night and until reset, I received nest disconnected emails. Since reset i have yet to receive email about nest disconnected. The reset is probably more about the base OS than netgear. Still need a few more days to see if internet loss is resolved.- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Thanks for letting us know. Yes, I believe a reset and setup from scratch may still be needed for some after the FW update. :smileyfrustrated:

So, if there is no problem with the Orbi firmware 2.3.0.32 and Netgear is only looking for someone who can read and write to update the release notes, please let us ( the ones who read this discussion and know the steps to manualy update the firmware ;) ) have a mirror to the Orbi firmware 2.3.0.32 so we can install it!
- SkywalkerPDApprentice
Note:
If you’re manually updating the firmware using a browser, you cannot update the firmware directly to v2.3.0.32. You must first update the firmware to v2.2.1.212. After updating the firmware v2.2.1.212, your Orbi router will reboot, and then you can update to v2.3.0.32.
Ok I get that, but why is there no official post/link to this 2.2.1.212 firmware? And do I have to install 212 on the router and the satelite or only on the router?
- TC_in_MontanaVirtuoso
The only place I found a link for v2.2.1.212 in the NG support pages is to go to Support, Orbi, and select RBK53. Once on that page, click on Downloads. Both the 2.2.1.212 and 2.3.0.32 links are there.
Here is a link: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/RBK53.aspx#download
- gr8shoVirtuosoInteresting. The release notes for the interim version clearly denote the intent.
I guess it’s safe to apply now on the RBK50 as well?

v32 has been reposted:
https://kb.netgear.com/000060603/RBR50-RBS50-Firmware-Version-2-3-0-32
This is for both RBR50 and RBK50 series systems only.

Odd that the support document can be gotten to properly from the RBK53 product page but not from the RBK50 one. And when you open, it clearly states intended for
RBR50 / RBS50 Firmware Version 2.3.0.32
Anyhoo, diving into the deep end now. And...
Router Firmware Version
V2.3.0.32- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
The 50 series is all inclusive. K is for Kit. Which is the box with a router and 1 or two satellites in the box.
This includes the RBK50, RBK53, RBK50V, and RBK52W. Which the actual phsycial models in each of these kits is the RBR50 and RSB50.

RBR50 & RBS50 Updated to 2.3.0.32. I also have an RBS50Y Outdoor still with 2.2.1.204 FW. Will mis-matched FW effect overall performance?
Thanks,
Bob
- sc00ter12AspirantNo issues upgrading to new FW via expected path. Been running for 2 days without anything abnormal. I didn’t reset it either which was nice to not re-setup again.
Question though-has anyone gotten Netgear Armor working? Every time I click on Security it gives me an error saying “device is offline.”
Thanks.
So far so good.
Ring, Nest, Hue, Wemo...etc, all working :manhappy:- frewsterGuide
Everything is still working great. I manually updated a few days ago without having to reset anything. This is the best the Orbis have ever worked for us.
- Chuck_MMentor
There has been a lot of chat about resetting before updating; I didnt do any of that before I did the manual firmware upgrades and it works just fine.
- Damit1ApprenticeDid reset my Orbi while doing these tests.
Sadly my speeds issue just will not resolve.
If in previous FW had a peaks to 900M.
Now not more than 530-560.
It is what it is.
Did a reset to both units to prevent every possible issue.
- randy915Initiate
Manually updated RBS50 to 2.2.1.212 and everytime it came up it would crash the RBR50 to the point where I had to turn off the satellite, update the router to 2.2.1.212, and then do a factory reset on the satellite so that the pair can talk.
Once I got through that the satellite update to 2.3.0.32 followed by the main router went flawlessly.
Fingers crossed but I have a strong feeling we have finally made it past the point where we will have to do factory resets for future firmware updates. Having own this system for over a year now it's nice to see the firmware finally beginning to mature. Good work NG team.
- gHiDoRaAspirantwhere I can get the V2.2.1.212? Thanks.
- randy915Initiatehttps://kb.netgear.com/000060612/RBR50-RBS50-Firmware-Version-2-2-1-212
Note this is only for RBK50 kit.
randy915 Note that the .212 firmware ONLY needs to be applied to the router. The satellite can be upgraded straight to .32.

Does all the latest updaters notice speeds issues?
Do you work as AP mode or Router?
Has anyone else had issues with Armour enabled? I upgraded the the firmware yesterday but started getting problems with browsers on multiple devices reporting insecure connections and invalid certificates last night along with Echos being unable to connect. Disabling Armour appears to have fixed it so far.
- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Have you power cycled the Orbi after the FW update?
Might need to factory reset the router and setup from scratch.
Others haven't reported problems with Armour as of yet. A few activation issues mostly.
You can post here regarding Armour Questions and help:

I'm also having no Armor issues (except the occasional false vuln report) and have 6 Alex devices connected as well as a mess of other home automation devices.

I have not had any connectivity issues since you asked the question. In my case I started with a clean slate as FURRYe38 suggested. No problems activating the service, and no connectivity issues. Have over 30 connected devices including echo dots, AFTVs, tablets, security cameras, in addition to seven smartphones and computers.

porlockweir Its interesting that you are seeing these issue when Netgear Armor is enabled. I have been running Armor on my Orbi for past month or so on both beta and official 2.3.0.X FWs and have not observed these issues. If its not too much hassle can you back up your configuration and reset Orbi to factory settings and see if issue occurs? If the problem does not occur in default factory settings with Armor enabled load the backup config file and see if issue can be reproduced. If you can consistently reproduce the issue I would recommend to reach out to Netgear to have them investigate.
Thanks for the advice - I'd had to do this with my prevuous Nighthawk but it's a real pain having to set eveyting up from scratch as the backup never seems to include every setting. I finally got it to work last weekend after 3 factory defaults, including one due to it randomly deciding to block allowed devices on access control. Perhaps Netgear needs to look at other technology manufacturers to see how a firmware update should work, as my experience with this one was very poor with hours wasted due to the bugs they didn’t spot. I now have had Armor running for a week and it seems pretty good especially with he unlimited device subscription to Bitdefender – only issue so far is that it has declared my ReadyNAS that has just been updated to the latest firmware (a much better experience than the Orbi!) as being insecure even though it should be locked down - but irritatingly just displays a blank box when I click on it to find out what this issue is.
